Coming out of lurking.........

Postby soccer_mom1 » September 29th, 2005, 9:13 pm

This is my first post to this amazing support group and I am sure it won't be my last. I have been lurking, reading through all the support you give each other. I have had nothing to post until today. Tomorrow is day 1. All my Medifast came in the mail today and I am doing this with a friend for the one on one support ( we are neighbors so it will be easy to see a lot "less " of each other).

I am 35, 6 feet tall and weigh 215 pounds. I plan on taking a picture tomorrow so I can have my before and afters. I hope to lose 50 pounds and then maintain it.

I have been lurking and learning from all of you, posts new and old. I know I can do this!!!!!! Thank you all for giving me the courage to do this!!!!

To everyone out there, thank you in advance for all the support I know I am going to get........here we go!!!!!

Banana shake first thing tomorrow.........yummmmmmmmmmm

Heya Soccer Mom!

I think one of the best things about the forum is that you can read about the good, the bad and the hungry to prepare for the MF experience. It's NOT easy, but if weight loss was easy we'd have all done it before now, right? :) So lots of luck to you. Keep us posted on your journey, cool?

xoxo Toxsiq :)

Doing well on day 2, but BTW, the chili ( to me ) at least is inedible.......I actually did not do the supplements right yesterday, I forgot 1.......oops. I am enjoying the zero calorie drinks and am doing well with my water, i am not hungry. I did HMR program before and lost 30 pounds ( of course I gained it all back) but this time I am determined........thanks for all the support so far........I won't weigh until Friday so we'll see.......... 8)

Martha, thanks for the words of support........boo hoo for me...... :x I was at a friends house for dinner and I told her about Medifast and she so kindly prepared a small chicken breast, lightly bbq sauced ( no big deal), but for my green,I could have sworn that I could eat artichoke ( I think the asparagus on the list was confusing me as I told my friend I could not have that  ......). Needless to say I had a great medium steamed with parsley and garlic........artichoke. I'm only on day 2 and I already screwed up!!!!! ( at least it wasn't a 1/2 gallon ice cream screw up.....I was trying ot be good.......). Oh well, live and learn :table:

Hey SM,

Hate to hear you had a hard time with the pesky :x :x chili. Go to the Lean Cuisine section of the form and look at those suggestion. I cook mine on the stove in a pot, with a beef boullion thingie . I add extra water and let it simmer a while. You have to let it sit there :felix: and just get happy. :exercise: You know, they sucked all the water out of it to get it in those little packages so you have to make sure that all the water gets back in!!--(Either that or make an appointment with your dentist for your soon to be chipped teeth!!) Sometimes I sprinkle onion flakes in there....(Nancy is that allowed???) The same goes for the chicken and wild rice soup. It has to sit and puff back up!!

Try it again!! I love the stuff!!

Thanks for the chili advice.......I'll give it another go before it goes....to ebay........maybe cooking it longer will help with more water and some spices.......I am still loving the banana shakes (with just a pinch of sugar free fat free banana pudding mix , it takes out all the chalkiness)....... :bananadance:

Hi Soccer Mom:

I have to agree with you on the Chili. !! It truly isn't my favorite, but now I sort of, kind of like it (in a pinch) but I add a little bit of Salsa and let it set so the beans & etc will soften.

You are doing a great job and this is an awesome site and a jorney that you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Good luck to you and hope you have a good week.

;) ,
Evie

Well, I tried to fix up the chili, I added more water, some chili flakes, some pureed garlic and a couple dashes of fiery hot sauce (similar to Tabasco). It was actually much better than the first time. :)

It's 6:00 pm my time and I still have to have 2 MF!!! I had an egg omelette for dinner with spinach and a tiny bit of onions. I have had a load to drink today, I have pudding chilling in the fridge but I am stuffed!!!

Menu today

Breakfast- Banana Shake
Lunch - Chili
2 pm Chocolate Shake mix w/ Diet RC Raspberry ( won't be making that again, was not a favorite)
Dinner- Sprayed Pam on a pan, sauteed spinach and a few onions, poured on 2 scrambled eggs and cooked it all up
Dessert- Sugar Free Jello Cup

It doesn't help that I woke up late so now I have to stay up late and have 2 more MF......... ;)
Thanks for helping me through.......one shake at a time!!!!-Inga

Chili Hint

Postby I'm a loser » October 3rd, 2005, 1:31 am

Welcome Soccermom! You will love MF and this board too! I have been following the program since 7/12 and have lost 38 pounds. I actually went through a period where I ate chili 1x everyday for two weeks staight! I could not stand it at first but I learned...I found a product by the soup starters called better than boullion- chili base. It has very few calories and 1 gram of carbs for 2 tablespoons- I use one teaspoon mixed with the chili and water, I add dehydrated onions, garlic & onion powder, chili spice, red pepper flakes, and a dash of cumin & cilantro and cook in the microwave for 1 minute let it sit (covered for as long as you can- hours work best!) then heat for another minute & let sit for a while then heat for another minute and eat with 1 teaspoon FF sour cream (this might be a cheat) and 1 tablespoon salsa. I really, really like it! It seems like a lot of work but considering that is the most I cook these days, I am ok with it. If you have not tried the hot chocolate I HIGHLY reccomend it. Good luck with the chili and let me know how it turns out. Take care!
