Cocoa add-in question

Questions/Comments about Weight loss Products.

I enjoy the hot cocoa with the DaVinci toasted Mashmellow or the Peppermint Paddy flavors. Both are really good and to me add more flavor than the fake little mashmellows that used to be in the cocoa.

Am I the only person who can't actually taste the Da Vinci syrups when I put them in shakes/drinks?

You might be, Manly. How much do you usually add? Most of my bottles have the DaVinci pump dispenser, so I usually use one pump per cocoa. Occasionally I use two.

Although after a tip from Vicky, I won't be using ANY for a while.

For some people, adding things like extracts, or syrups don't cause the scale to move downwards. That's what happened with me. I was adding orange extract to a few things and not much of it but it was still causing me to plateau. I cut them all out and now, losing like crazy. :)

Yeah.. I just read that post - I'd heard similar stories about people on Atkins.... bummer! Guess it's good that I'm okay with most everything as is (except banana, but i made those go bye bye)

I'll let everyone know if it works. I'm SO sick of being such a slow loser and then stalling all the time. (Then again, last time I was on Atkins I had even more trouble losing - and I used the DaVinci syrups THEN, too. So maybe it'll work. I can live without marshmallow. And hazelnut. And even caramel.)

I usually just use a tbsp or so. It's not really a big deal though, since I don't mind the shakes on their own.

Am I the only one who has never added or doctored any of their food? :hammerhead: I drink the shakes as they are.

Oh Robin, I know plateaus are frustrating!! But look how far you've come and how skinny you are right now....omigosh, what I wouldn't GIVE to weigh what you do right now! I'm not the fastest loser either....even when I did 5 shakes a day a few years ago and NOTHING ELSE....ave. loss was 3 lbs./week. Anyway, read page 81 in Succes in a Shaker Jar, if you have it. It states the plateaus are common after a 50 lb. loss. The body seems to take stock and hold on to it's fat stores for a week or two before it decides it's safe to lose and your system kicks back in. I had a 2 1/2 week plateau after I'd lost 50 lbs. last time, and I was also about 20 lbs. from my goal weight. Hope this helps. :D

I'd kill for 3 pounds a week. I've been on Medifast for over 10 months now, and yes, I've lost 50 but it's taken me all that time. I lose very, very slowly.

And Anne, I doctor pretty much everything to some degree. I can't stand the foods on their own. I'd have given up the first week if I hadn't found this place and all the tips!! (Then again, I don't drink the shakes at all, except the occasional RTD. I hate them.)
