Close call!!

Postby Guest » July 6th, 2006, 1:08 pm

I can't believe I did it. My sons had just finished swim lessons and it was way past lunch and they were hungry. Of course there had to be a Mickey D's close by that they wanted to go to. I was hungry too and just due for my next meal. I went through the drive thru and ordered their Happy Meals and was so close to ordering another cheeseburger Happy Meal for myself. I looked at the women, soooo close to saying "A third Happy Meal please." Instead I don't know where it came from, but I ordered an unsweetened ice tea with lemon instead! If you knew me, you would know why I can't believe I just didn't say " *** it, I'll start again tomorrow!" I have done that so many times before. I came home and made chili with crackers and then came right to this forum. Thanks everyone for listening. Three hours at a time!

WAY TO GO

Congrats on the will power!! I think I am starting to understand that it is more than just using Medifast, it is the power of thought and changing behaviors.

Way to defy the drive thru! Proud of you!

DeDe

P.S. Now a little advice...a packet or an RTD in the glove compartment or a bar on hand...make sure you're never left without product when it's about that time!

Or I keep a bar in my purse at all times. So even if I'm not in the car (or in MY car), I'm set.

And good for you for stopping yourself!! So much of our eating is automatic, isn't it? Half the battle isn't even willpower; it's just being more conscious of what you're putting in your mouth.

Three hours at a time.......what a great attitude. And great advice. I have been finding lately that the "one day at a time" is getting a little tough to stick with.

Good for you, for staring temptation down!! It gets much easier as you go along in the program.
Like Robin suggested, always have some food with you. Today, I ran errands all afternoon and took two Ready to Drink shakes with me. Sometimes, when it is close to the next meal, I take along a bar(some of them don't hold up too well in a boiling hot car)!
Again, Congrats for getting over your first 'speed bump'!!! :D

Goooood for you!!!
You did great!! You stared temptation right in the face and ordered ice tea. Wow!!! You are going to make it!! I think the RTD's are great to have handy. They fit in a purse just fine .... don't melt .... but make sure you don't poke it with a pen!!
