Clavicles/Collarbone

Postby Lauren » June 21st, 2006, 6:30 am

This may seem so strange, but being overweight/fat on and off for so long, one thing I desperately wanted were beautiful obvious clavicles (collarbones for those of you saying "huh?"). My mom and sister are both thin, and my mom, especially, has the loveliest figure, most notably in strapless evening gowns. Her clavicles and neckline are always so elegant, and I wanted it too, for as long as I can remember.

When I started losing weight on MF, I was constantly touching my clavicle area to see if they would become pronounced. Over time I started feeling them pop, but had to push in to make it happen. No lie, I was touching my collarbone area every day to check...well my clavicles are officially protruding on their very own, I don't have to push my shoulders forward or anything. I put on a wrap dress this morning for work, with a wide open neckline, and there are two lovely clavicles in full glory. Is it weird that I only want to buy shirts with open necklines now? :-)

I just thought I'd see if any of the ladies here give a crap about their clavicles, or if I am a total freak!

Ciao!

Lauren

No, you're not alone!! I had a friend who was obsessed by hers, too, when she lost weight. I never understood it, even when I was thin.

But ... this time around, I actually called my cousin (more like my sister) when I noticed that mine had gotten more prominent.

I have the same obsession but with my side pelvis/hip bone. If I can feel it I know I am losing weight!

Hey Lauren! You are not alone. I think the neckline is one of the most beautiful and sexy features of a woman. I cannot wait for mine to become more pronounced.

my body obsession is my tummy. In my family people gain weight mostly in their tummys. So I when I started MF I was approaching the bubbie look. (you know, big boobies, big belly, big hips, big thighs.. go go gadget fertility goddess!) Anyway.. out of every area on my body the one I pinch multiple times a day is the "muffintop" just above my bellybutton line. I can see myself already gearing up to focus on my rear once the muffintop is gone. I keep grabbing it and wishing it was a little more perky :D

The weird thing about losing weight this quickly has been that I can feel bands of fat under my skin. Does anyone else notice this or am I the only one constantly pushing and pinching and prodding herself? My roommate suggested I get a lymphatic drainage massage to see if it helps break up the stubborn fat areas. I wonder if that works.

Sarya- my belly is always the last to go. It is my one real weak point. After pregnancy, I had four large bumps- my boobs, upper belly and lower belly. Now at least you can tell I have boobs.

Oh yes, Lauren, I can relate. I am interested in every single bone that appears, beginning with my knuckles, my neck, my knee caps, ankles. I'm constantly feeling and looking to see if they are protruding further. My latest discovery is that knobby bone on the outside of my wrist. Oh yeah, I can relate!

I can actually see my shoulder bone/joint thingy and my ribs and my knee caps and the bones in my feet. LOL! no more fred flintstone feet. ....Is it just me, or are the rest of your smaller than the last time you weighed what you weigh? I'm as small as I was when I was 170 ish....
