well i've been working as an intern for an big energy company for the summer. This is my last week working here, then classes start monday and i go back to my crappy job from a lil over a year ago. Working in a deli/bakery dept of a grocey store.
There are both cons and pros to this....
cons...
working with food! i'm a cake decorater!
the pay - (is $10 less an hour than what i made as an intern - another reason why i took out a BIG loan this year)
working with sucky customers
pros
standing on my feet all day! (i would love to walk off some of that "desk" weight i put on)
no eating allowed in the deli - so another reason not to snack, only eat my medifast at "approved" times (my old manager is nice so she works with me)
no more 40hour work weeks! - just class in the morning M-F and working 3, 6-7 hour shifts
I'm kind of excited to go back. a lot of people that worked in the store i knew left, but the gals i worked w/ in the deli are still there. i love them! my manager has college kids of her own so always works with me, giving me more or less hours based on my needs. the older lady i work with always helps me finish up cleaning so i can catch up on cakes! she even loves giving me breaks!
it will be only us 3, and maybe a temp girl from another department, so we are a close pack. Which is the opposite of what my old computer company job way last year before i took my internship.
I'm happy to go back, now i can actually enjoy college and not worry about food, rent, bills because my loan is goning to help cover most of that.
I guess i just wanted to update everyone
I also wanted to know if anyone has tips on avoiding food tempations. I did weight watchers back then and lost weight because i could keep track of the back things i ate.
Now i cant sneak chicken tenders or sticky buns! Soooo any advice? I cant chew gum which sucks b/c normally thats how i get through them.
