Scrambled eggs - not my fave  I'm not a huge fan of scrambled eggs anyway; I usually have an omelet or boiled/poached. Hmm, I wonder if I could cook the MF eggs omelet style in a pan sprayed with Pam? It's the texture of the scrambled eggs that gags me.

I'm going to try the chicken wild rice soup later on. The cool part about just starting out is that there is SO much to try! I love to try new things, and my cupboard is full of several varieties of new things, so this is fun!

Tea time!

It's almost soup time! Woohoo! I seriously have the hungries after my anti-climactic scrambled eggs experience earlier.

Salsa on the eggs makes them yummy!

I bet you'll like the soup :). I enjoy the chicky and wild rice, partly because I think I can taste shitake mushrooms in there (I haven't looked but I *believe* I can taste them). Never mind those hungries ... they'll be gone before you know it ! Keep jammin' !

Hi, there. I'm way late chiming in here, but welcome! They didn't introduce the eggs till after I was done with the program, so I don't know about them. Did you like the soup? It was never one of my favorites for some reason, but I LOVED the broccoli soup, with a spoonful of salsa stirred in. Or sometimes some Molly McCheese.

Never ever make the eggs as recommended on the package. I always scramble mine in a skillet and I use bottled water (when I used tap water it was fishy tasting..). I also will use a pinch of fat-free or reduced fat cheddar or a smear of mayo, but that's just what I like with the eggs. It makes for a nice change from bars and shakes. I really like the creamy chicken soup, but none of the others.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone!

 Hi Pinkbug, Dogma & OKSoonerGirl!

Molly McCheese! I'll have to try that! I was thinking some cheese would have helped the flavor immensely. I'll have to try salsa, too. I'm glad to hear that they can be made in a skillet. Eggs are just not meant to be made in the microwave.

Karli - the soup was great! I added half a knorr bullion cube, along with a dash of sage & some oregano. It was GOOD! I totally taste the mushrooms too! I only have one box of that one, so I'll be ordering more SOON.

My fiance comes home today! :yay: I'll be picking him up at the airport in just a couple hours. Can't wait!

Right now I'm nomming on some peach oatmeal. Yum! I love oatmeal; that's the one thing I'd have the hardest time giving up! I'm glad the MF oatmeal is reasonably good. I was worried when I dumped the pouch into the bowl - it looked very much NOT like oatmeal. But it came together nicely :)

I never got on here last night to post my day yesterday, so here it is:

- banana creme shake
- scrambled eggs :(
- chicken & wild rice soup
- capuccino :| meh. next time I'll mix it with coffee instead of hot water
- choc pudding :| another meh. will freeze & eat as a pudding pop next time

and of course my L&G, which rocked!

- shrimp poached in curry broth (onion, garlic, tomato, curry leaves, turmeric, 1 veggie bullion cube, curry powder, and one very hot green chile - thai, I think)
- zucchini sauteed in a tiny bit of olive oil, seasoned with a little braggs aminos

I have to go grocery shopping today. Will stock up on lean proteins (tofu, shrimp, fish & eggs) and veggies (cucumber, zucchini, broccoli, spinach, eggplant & okra if I can find any).

One of my absolute favorite snacks is firm tofu cut into cubes, marinated in braggs aminos (or soy sauce; I  braggs), sesame oil & rice wine vinegar or lime juice. I can eat it raw! But it's also tasty baked.

Note to self: No talk of L&G when you are several hours away from your daily L&G. It's torture, hahaha!

Hiya Lisa ! Sounds like you are doing great ! It can actually be pretty fun to figure out just what kinds of L/G's you can make for yourself, eh ? It is also an experience to be figuring out which MF suppies you like the best.

I hope your weight-loss is to your satisfaction so far ! The first week can really rock the socks ! Sometimes it's a little surprising to find out that something like herbs and spices can slow the process, so just see to it that whatever you are actually adding to your L/G and such, that it is still following the program (there are actually specific dose-sizes for a day with those, too), otherwise it can start to slow down the process ... especially something like soy sauce (with all of its sodium).

Shrimp is SO good ! We have somewhat recently purchased a steamer (okay, a few months ago, actually) and tried our hands at steaming our own shrimpies ... MMMMMMM ... SO good ! They are even delicious plain ! I tried steamed tofu with nothing on it, not so good :( , so you are a wonder-woman for eating that plain. Strangely, when we would have crab (a couple of nights we tried this with our other seafood), I would be up a couple of pounds the next morning ! I think it was pretty salty stuff !

Anyway, glad you are figurin' out how this all works ! Cheers !

Hi,
I make the eggs in a frying pan, too. I just add in my normal pepper and chives and when it is done, a sprinkle of Molly McButter on top. If you do it when it is still hot and steam is rising off, it melts great.

I add Molly McCheese to Cream of Broc all the time. Very good stuff

Oatmeal was always one of my favorites non-MF and I try to eat it everyday on MF.

I like pretty much all the soups except I think the chicken noodle is salty as is. The only thing I have banned is chilli. Nothing I do mkaes it taste good and I have tried every suggestion. I was never a big chilli person before so that could be why. I swear these pictures they put on the boxes are of other chilli brands!
Don't really care as long as everything's better than yesterday was...

What is this Molly McCheese stuff???? Also, one of my favorite favorite things is to take the Hot Cocoa and mix it with about 1/4 hot water and then mix that into a medium coffee-it's wonderful! Another tip mix up a packet of the banana pudding and a packet of chocolate (in separate containers) and then layer and freezer-tah-dah you have a fudge bomb pop!

Hey all!

I've been kinda slacking in here - fiance is home, big exam to study for at school. Amazing how quickly the time flies past!

I am still very much sticking to the plan. It's been really easy for me so far, though I think I need to rein in my culinary instincts a bit. I LOVE to cook, so I think I've been overdoing it a bit with my L&G. Example: my shrimpies - gotta poach them in a broth with onions & garlic & a little tomato &/or roasted red peppers. It's tasty, but I haven't lost ANY weight in like 4 whole days  The horror!

Overall, though, I'm down 10-14 pounds (depending on what kind of mood the scale is in, apparently) so far. My fiance has commented on how much trimmer I look, and I can definitely see a difference! My clothes fit better, and yesterday I ran with the dog a little bit and I FELT lighter on my feet. I love it! 40-ish pounds to go; I can't wait to see how great I feel when I reach goal!

I hope everyone else is doing fabulously  I'll try not to be such a slacker in here - I'm just totally smitten with my man and I can't take my eyes off him when he's home. Makes it tough to get online sometimes.
