Chocolate Pudding trouble.

Postby fernationa » July 7th, 2006, 4:39 pm

Hey I can't get the chocolate pudding to be smooth for anything. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? It's all lumpy and I like the taste but I'm having a hard time enjoying the texture.

Thanks
Ashley

I used to have that problem. Nasty little soy lumps all through it.

I put exactly 4 ounces of water (or water and prepared Crystal Light) in a shaker jar or small container - any more than that, and you get pudding soup. Then I add the powder, close it up and shake till it's too thick to shake any more. Then I stick it in the fridge for at least half an hour. Comes out just right every time.

I bought the magic bullet when I started MF. I whip the pudding with the flat blade. It is perfect for pudding.

My pudding is perfect each and every time. BEWARE!! Sometimes the packets have a little less or a little more powder, so it can be soupy or thick. I don't measure the water---I go by "look". The only trick I use is really cold water. In fact, I have water in my fridge labeled "puddin water---keep AWAY!" Using the cold water helps, for some reason. I stir it slowly, and I make sure there are no clumps in the powder before I add the water. Works for me!!

A wire whisk really works well. I aslo use a wire whisk for my hot chocolate, cappachino and chi latte.

My banana comes out perfect each time, too.

Chocolate is a 50/50 shot. I add ice and more water and blend it into a shake if it gets too soupy..then freeze it.Not bad

I use ice cold water and the shaker jar as well...works like a charm.

On another note...I REALLY like my nanner pudding kinda lumpy. Makes me think I have little bits of Nilla Wafers in my pudding! ;)

I have choco pudding every day, sometimes twice. Use a fork while mixing it, works great. Like everyone else, COLD water works best. I have also learned, don't get distaracted while making it, keep stiring or you will get lumps and there is no return after that. I have mastered the chocolate pudding...hehe.
