I wonder if the fruit n nut granola bars are in yet. It's been two weeks since I got my last order and was told they were on backorder.

If there is one complaint I have about the Medifast company, it's that they don't tell you WHEN YOU PLACE THE ORDER that something is back-ordered and you won't be getting it for awhile. That would give me the opportunity to decide if I wanted to -- or COULD -- wait, or if I wanted to order an alternative instead. Fortunately I have a good supply of products here, but if I were living a little more closely on the budget and were ordering only exactly what I needed exactly when I needed it, I'd be SOL (Shoot Out of Luck) right now.

This not being told that something is backordered until the package arrives is for the birds. And if I wanted to order two boxes of some other bar right now to make up for the missing bars, I assume I'd have to pay shipping on it since it wouldn't be a $200 order.

Nancy, Terry, if you have the ear of anybody in customer service at Medifast, please would you pass this on?

24K - you should give them a call. I have the same complaint and had placed an order including the oatmeal which I was depending on having. My order came without oatmeal or any explanation that it was backordered. I then saw somewhere that the oatmeal was off of backorder and assumed it would be arriving any day....it didn't.

I finally called and it turned out that it had never been shipped and wouldn't have had I not called. Even more irritating since my credit card had been charged for the whole order amt and not just the part that was shipped.

Anyway, I'll bet if you call they can either get them shipped out if they're in or substitute something else and ship them free.

I had the same problem. I called and MF did send me an alternate product and ended up not charging me for shipping, even though the replacement products didn't total $200. I didn't even have to ask-- they shipped it free voluntarily.

I agree as to the annoying-ness of the lack of notice re backordered products. What I do to prevent that is to check the availability of everything I'm ordering at the MF official site first-- if the product shows up as orderable, it has shipped without a problem. If it's backordered on the MF official site, I just don't order it when I use the TSFL order form. It's not an ideal solution since I have to keep two windows open when I'm ordering, but it's a useful work-around when youdon't wanna wait 2 months for your oatmeal! ;)

Thanks guys for bringing up the backorder problem,

TSFL is aware of this problem and are working on it.

Great work around Rae. Maybe they should hire you...:)

TSFL and Medifast are very good at addressing customer complaints, so hopefully this issue will make it to the top of their to-do list.

I actually order by phone bec. they will tell me that it is on backorder and that I cannot order it at all at that time. Then I know immediately to try a different product. I just call and give the numbers next to the product. Takes me about 5 min. Hope that helps!

I had the same experience when I ordered this last time. I ordered choc caramel bars online (a case since I remember them being backordered for a long time before). Then I realized I needed some other stuff and I called. The customer service rep said that they would be backordered a couple of weeks. But the site didn't say that. I ended up ordering some other bars in order to have something on hand.

I'm always available to freelance! I spend more time on this site than I do getting my "real" work done anyway...
