I really don't care for the chicken with wild rice and chicken noodle soups....I have had the same 2 boxes sitting in the pantry for ages....does anyone have any suggestions for legal ways to make these yummier??

I love the chicken soup products...NOW, because I've come up with a spicy concoction that works for me.

I don't have the exact measurements, because I just kind of eyeball how much I use, but the ingredients include, chili powder, cayenne powder, curry, cumin, tumeric, garlic and onion flakes and "Better than Boullion" Chicken Flavor.

Again, using all the above ingredients turns the whole meal into a very spicy and depending upon how much chili and curry, "Hot" meal.

Essentially, you are pretty safe adding spices so long as they don't add any calories or carbs to your meal.

Happy experimenting,

Thanks, Carmel.

I dress up the chili and minestrone soup like that, but hadn't thought to alter the chicken soups - is there a special way you cook them or just according to the package instructions?

I used to follow the directions exactly, but after playing around with it, I sometimes will put the soup in a large mug, rather than a bowl. and nuke it for 2 1/2-3 minutes. Then let it set for a couple more. All the spices and the boullion seems to make the soup thicker, so I also start out with more water than the instructions state...closer to 8 - 10 ounces. That way it seems like more, without the added calories.. ;-)

You just have to play around with it a little. Everyone's tastes are so different. I really prefer spicy, so I toss curry or cumin or chili into all my soups and chili.

Glad I could help

I also add soy sauce & red pepper flakes to the chicken noodle and/or the chicken w/ wild rice (before I nuke it so the flavor is absorbed w/ the h20) to make a hot & sour type soup. Really yummy! 8)

MMmmm, I may end up liking this soup....Funny how tastes change - I didn't like vanilla shakes until I heated them up - now they're really thick and creamy, and I add DaVinci SF syrups to them. And I didn't like the puddings until I started making them in the blender with 8 oz water - they're super thick and creamy shakes now!
