chicken noodle needs help

Postby fatfree » July 14th, 2005, 4:55 pm

anyone have any ideas on how to liven up the chicken noodle? I have quite a few boxes and I dont really like the taste, I am not really sure why ? I will eat it if I have to , but at this point I just seem to be choosing other things and before long Im gonna be stuck with no other product but the dreaded CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP! Dont know if Im strong enough to have to eat it several times a day just to get rid of it
thanks

Cook it on the stove, not in the nuke. Let it simmer, that will help. Add a chicken bouillon cube, or a teaspoon or so if you use the powdered kind. Toss in some vinegar and a few drops of fire oil. Yummy!

Others will be along with other suggestions -- have you looked through the Lean Cuisine forum? You'll find that others have gone where you now go....

I put a cup of water in a pot and add the c.noodle soup, then 1 chicken bouillon cube and a few pieces of chopped onion, chopped celery(optional) and black pepper.. stir and bring it to a boil, cover with a lid and simmer for about 7- 8 minutes or so.. I add extra water and some bouillon and let mine soak for a few hours or overnight in the fridge. Then when I cook it, i add a few drops of hot sauce and maybe a bit of vinegar.

As for pickles, I only like the half-sour kind, so usually if I want anything extra, I go with celery or occasionally the equivalent amount of cucumber (which isn't listed in the plan, but I fail to see the difference between a pickle and some cucumber slices, other than a whole lot of salt).

Fix up your Chicken Noodle Soup

Postby skramstad » July 25th, 2005, 1:49 pm

I add a 1/4 to 1/2 a tsp. of McCormicks Barbeque Seasoning and 1 packet of Splenda and nuke it the usual way but with a bit more water. I use the packet to measure my water. In this case I use 2 packets of water. YUMYUM!!

I LOVE adding some Hot and Spicy Mrs. Dash to it. I just nuke mine 2 minutes and let it sit for 5. I am a huge fan of the chicken noodle soup. It doesn't taste "low cal" to me AT ALL! :)
