I caught myself..

Postby Neeko » April 4th, 2006, 11:36 am

Well when I got home earlier today, I was by myself. After a couple of minutes I caught myself thinking and going to the pantry to see what I could munch on. Instead of completing my action, I opted for a glass a water and a chocolate shake since it was time to eat. It is so weird how when I'm bored, I just automatically turn to food, and I wasen't even hungry, no growling stomach or anything. Medifast has really taught me how to tune into what my body and mind is really telling me! :star:

Good job!! I was the same way, and believe it or not, it really does change the longer you're on the plan. If I'm bored now, I actually look for something to DO instead of something to eat.

Recognizing the pattern is the first step. Do something different (like grabbing water and a shake) long enough, and it'll become your NEW pattern.

Good for you!!

Way to go Neeko!!! I so remember the early days on the program. Once I caught myself reaching for a Banana...wasn't even thinking...just grabbing for it...the I snapped out of it before peeling it. It was kind of a scarey feeling, but like Robin said, it gets easier and easier the longer you're on program. Keep up the good work!

Good Job Neeko!

Robin is completely right. You recognized the pattern, and now you're doing something about it! I'm proud of you and happy for you! Isn't it amazing how much of our days used to be tied to food in a roundabout way?

Great job!! The mind is a remarkable tool. You are in the process of re-training your mind and soon when you get home you will go for the water and shake first!

today i wondered into a chocolate boutique in Soho, one of those stores that are very pricey, and very good !
