I can't wait to treat myself!!!!!

Postby Honey Child » February 3rd, 2007, 6:53 pm

I don't know how long it will take, but once I reach my 20lb loss goal, I am buying myself a watch that I have been eyeballing. For me it's now a fun game to reach mini goals so that I can treat myself.

Hey, Honey ~

That's a great idea! It is neat to have something to work towards. Those of us that have a considerable amount of weight to lose benefit from having celebrations along the way.

I really like to wear bracelets; I wore a jingly one on my right hand so when I'd reach for something, the noise reminded me to think before I grabbed anything foody.

A precious friend of mine - NE Gal in So wears a Hidalgo ring with a red heart to remind her that she lost 140 pounds for a healthier heart - your beautiful watch will be a perfect reward and a reminder for you - it's time to enjoy your healthier life!

Hi, Honey! Welcome to the forum -- (I haven't gotten around to meeting folks in a while. )

I'm doing the same thing with goal setting. I've got a necklace that I kept going back to and when I lost 80 lbs, I bought it. There were other things along the way -- earrings, a ring, bracelets like Nancy suggested. One was even a pair of black jeans with silver embroidery -- knowing of course, that I won't be in them too long, but they were a little snug when I bought them AND I had a coupon!! and I can hand them down to someone when I shrink out of them.

I can't wait to see what other treats you set your sights on! From the look of the watch, we might have similar tastes.

Keep shakin!

I got two rings in two months and a surprise trip to Hong Kong from my husband and I really think part of the reason is that he is so proud of me. I haven't done it perfectly, but I have lost 28 pounds and I haven't had a drink in 77 days. So even though I have had a rough week, I am in the process of change. I think rewarding yourself is a great idea.

Just fine even though I forgot to take my supps. and had to get creative with my plan, but I did it! Alas, no rewards purchased....didn't have time with all the pampering.

I have had to be so careful with my purchasing. With the opening of my own account at Bank of America came credit card offers out the wazoo! I got two cards in the mail yesterday. I really wanted to shop but am holding off three weeks until HK and if I don't find enough there I can go crazy here. I mean crazy in a good, measured way...

Sheesh, Bik ~

Talk about a reward...2 rings AND a 3 week trip to HK?

Dang! All I got was a rubberband bracelet and a trip around the block...

I am very proud of you to be 77 days drink-free.

Now, Nancy, it is only 12 days in HK, but in three weeks from now. Thanks for the congrats on the no-boozing. That and Medifast have really changed my life! I had almost 3 years of sobriety at one point so I know I can do it. One day at a time, just like one shake at a time!

Biki ~

You are making wonderful changes to your lifestyle and it is great that you are already enjoying how you feel physically, mentally and emotionally.

Great Job!

It is interesting how subtle food, alcohol and other not-so-good for us behaviors can sneak up on a person, changing their sense of well-being and purpose. We don't realize what's happening at the time and once we make a conscious decision to change, the fight begins.

It is hard to change negative habits but it is possible.

Now I have to work on my attitude about not being jealous about Honey’s new watch, Jo’s Special Day (Dang! I wanna special day, too!), Diana’s necklace, earrings and your two rings, plus the trip to HK…

Honey Child, I think it's cool that you've chosen such a nice non-foody reward. As that new watch 'tick tocks' on your slenderizing wrist, folks'll be talkin' about your wonderful new body, too!
