Well I just got back from nine holes of golf where I got stung in the neck by a bee, <img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/16/16_3_155.gif' border=0> (and learned I'm not allergic to bee stings...) <img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_4_77.gif' border=0>and then had a less than thrilling L&G meal at TGIF's. :|

However, my eyes worked great! I did have to "cheat" a couple of times and close my right (reading) eye to see where the ball landed. (I seemed to be hitting the ball much farther too. Actually drove the ball from the tee on to the green that was 180 yards away. NEVER did that before!) I know it's going to take some time to adjust...but I feel it's definitely worth it. Reading is absolutely a breeze, as well as working on the computer.

Hardest part is remembering not to rub my eyes. It is verboten for 3 months! I've forgotten a couple of times about not rubbing them, but luckily haven't done any damage. (I hope!) <img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/25_5_55.gif' border=0>

At night I have a pair of eyeshields to wear to prevent me from rubbing or poking them in my sleep. Will have to wear the shields for 10 nights while sleeping.

Thank you again for all your good wishes, thoughts and prayers. And to any of you thinking about doing it...Do IT! It truly is a gift you deserve to give yourself.

See you all later. <img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_12.gif' border=0>

Sorry about the bee sting! OUCH! Those things hurt... I forgot how much until I was stung a couple summers ago! OWIE!!

That's great about your eye surgery going so well.... It looks like it's improving your golf game too. I'm really happy for you.

Glad to hear it went so well. I've been thinking about this procedure for sometime in the future, and it's good to read a positive first-hand experience.

Keep us updated!

I just could not get myself to ever do this surgery. I have 20/600 vision and am 20/20 with my contacts.

I had my eyes done in 2000 and on my appt the next morning, i was 20/20. When i came back for my 1-week appt, my eyes had changed to 20/15! (i started at 20/200 and 20/400 and a really bad astigmatisim) It's now 6 years later and i still love that i had it done and it's the best thing that i've ever done. today, my eyes are not 20/15 anymore but are still better than 20/20. i'm always reading things and my friends and family are like "u can see that?!?!" cuz they can't! welcome to a clearer world! :D
