Hi!! I'm Brand New!!

Postby c0rie » October 30th, 2006, 1:56 pm

Hello Everyone! My name is Corie. Nice to meet you all! :D

A little info 'bout me:

I am a female. I am 20 years old, I live in California, and love skydiving, boxing, and being glamorous! Oh.. And did I mention that I am sick and tired of being overweight! I am 5'7 and about 210 at this time, and at my very heaviest! I have always been really active, but little by little I developed an enormous sweet tooth, and it all went down hill from then on.

Today is actually my 4th day on MF, and I have definitely had some obstacles! But... I am here to overcome them, and will do so! ;)

I have really come to find out that I am not a huge fan of many of the products! I've been good, and have followed the program well, but I got really sick when I had some chicken noodle soup. I really felt nauseated. That was day 2 and I haven't had any soup since! I do enjoy oatmeals, shakes, puddings, and the chocolate bars though. :|

I just really hope I start to like this more, but I know I'm here to get healthy, and that is all that really matters! :exercise:

Well.. Thanks so much for all of the support! Take Care

Greetings Corie!!

Welcome! Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with the Chicken Noodle Soup. Check out the Lean Cuisine section of the Forum for some great recipes to doctor up the different products. It's amazing what the addition of some spices and boullion can do to the MF Soups!! Also, wait a few weeks and you will be surprised how your tastes have changed as you adjust to the products.

Welcome! As Drama Queen said, be sure to check out the Lean Cuisine section for some ideas on how to fix up the foods so they're more to your liking. I liked almost NONE of the products when I started. But I learned to doctor them up, and then I found my tastes eventually changed.

WELCOME!!!!
Where abouts in Ca do you live? I ask because I live in orange county, and just turned 21. It might be cool to be MF buddies.

If you haven't tried the cocoa, it is delish!!! Hot or blended with ice. I have 3 cocoas/ day.

You guys are great! I really have been having an extremely rough time! I am just getting so sick! I don't know if there is something wrong, but even if I think of the food, I want to you know what! I've even come to the point where I don't really even want to eat at all, not even L&G. (I make myself), but this feeling is giving me such a bad experience. I seriously hope my taste buds and everything start changing, because this is something I am going to do!! Just cross your fingers for me and encourage me to make it through the rough times, I really need it!

Allie, right now I live pretty close to Sacramento, in a town called Stockton. Not for long though, I am moving in about a month, to Merced, about 2 hours south. It is really close to Fresno. I’m making to move to attend nursing school. But, we won't be that far away, when I move! So that would be awesome! Thanks :hi5:

Another thing, how do you guys resize your pictures to fit in the profile, I tried and the system is saying that it is not allowed or something! It’s just my face, ha-ha, I promise!

corie,
You can send your picture to Unca, he's the moderator of the Studio Forum. Look for him there.
I'm thinking that what ever you've got isn't Medifast-related. Maybe some local gombu or crud??? I understand that it sucks to feel sucky but try to take it a bit at a time and see what happens...

WOW!! We should totally be buddies. I am also in nursing school, although I chose to go LVN and when I finish, I will get my RN because it is 6-8 year wait to get in here but if you do it this way, it is only 6 months to 1 year wait.

I will be sending good thoughts your way. Seriously try the hot cocoa. I though I would never make it, but I have and it is working.

I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Welcome to you, :byebye: Dear c0rie ~

I am sorry to hear you feel :puke: ...it makes me wonder if perhaps you are allergic to soy. Nausea is a symptom of a soy allergy. Generally people with soy allergies are allergic to the process used rather than to the soy itself; we have very few clients that are allergic to Medifast because they use a cold water wash rather than alcohol or chemical wash process.

I'd suggest trying the soy-free meal replacements and see if you can tolerate them. As Allie mentioned, try the Hot Cocoa...

The Soy-free Medifast products include:

Hot Cocoa, Instant Cappuccino, Chai Latte ~ It may sound :nana: weird, but these three products are also great mixed with cold water and whirled in the blender with ice! The Cappuccino and the Chai are similar to a Starbuck’s Frappuccino.

The other soy-free meal replacements are
Peach Iced Tea, Raspberry Iced Tea, Fruit Punch, Cranberry Mango and the Creamy Soups (Cream of Broccoli Soup, Cream of Chicken Soup, and Cream of Tomato Soup).

Let us know how it goes using those items. :secret: If needed, you can return your other products and exchange them for more of the soy-free items if the exchange is made within 30 days of purchase.

c0rie, some people develop a tolerance also after a week or two. I have several clients that :weightlift: 'toughed it out' for two weeks and they managed to shake off their nausea and their unwanted flabber.

Best wishes to you! :toast:

Welcome-

I agree completely with taste buds changing! I hated, repeated hated all the bars I tried in the first two weeks. When I finally got to a point where I had to eat one (or run out of product) I really enjoyed it.

Allie, I'm glad I’m not the only one addicted to the hot cocoa, I wouldn't make it without it!
