Thanks for the extra info, DogMa! I'm hoping to get into a routine of doing cardio in the a.m., and interval training in the afternoon (a mix of weights, exercise and cardio). The trainer sets up a routine for me that makes it easy to follow.
Weigh in:
196.8! WooHoo! I made the goal of being under 200 by this Monday! Yay!! Next big hurdle: 175. I've made it before, but never farther than 170 before regaining. But that's a ways away yet.
Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend! DH (Troy) and I met friends Mike & Lorelei and our friend Melissa Sunday evening at Trudy's, a fun Mexican restaurant that's an Austin tradition. We were actually supposed to meet for a movie first, but that got botched, and I'm glad it did! I had more fun just visiting and catching up!
Monday Troy, Melissa and I left early and picked up some breakfast burritos and tamales (for them) on the way to a state park near our place called
Hamilton Pool. It's a beautiful natural pool along the river. They only let 75 cars in at a time - and we were car #74! How lucky were we?! It was our first time there, and we didn't realize that after parking, it's a 1/4 mile hike to the natural pool (or grotto). So I ended up getting in a 1/2 mile hike overall!
Fortunately, we only brought a small cooler and some floaties. It was a beautiful hike and the pool is absolutely gorgeous.
We ended up floating for over four hours - much longer than we realized! It was so relaxing. We all ended up with a little too much sun. After that we headed home to shower and eat dinner before heading into Austin to hear some live music at the
Saxon Pub. Even Troy went, and he's not usually a live music kind of guy (he gets bored sitting still and doesn't really like crowds). We got there early and Melissa kicked my booty at a game of Phase 10, followed by another booty kicking in dominos. That girl is freaky good at games.
Matt the Electrician played, followed by
Bob Schneider. Both shows were fantastic! Even Troy had a great time!
Today I didn't make it up early to hit the treadmill. I have my last follow-up appt with the plastic surgeon this afternoon. Fortunately the doc I work for is closing early today, so it worked out perfectly. After that, I'm headed for the gym.
