Didn't make it to the scales this a.m. I woke up really tired, so I slept an extra hour. It was a good choice, though, and I feel really good today. And we're closing up the office an hour early today, so I'll head straight for the gym after work.
Weighed in at
201.6 today. Headin' back in the right direction! Phew!
For a while now I've been downloading free weight loss podcasts from iTunes. Not all the podcasts are specifically applicable to where I am now in my journey to fitness, but they all have good ideas for exercise, diet and motivation - or all of the above. Listening to them on the way to work, or while working out or doing housework helps to keep me in focus, to keep my mind on the diet track.
I really like
Inside Out Weight Loss - she uses visualizations to help in moments of cravings or crisis, and her overall intent is to help her listeners see themselves and their goals in a new way - to see attaining our fitness goals not as deprivation, but as having the opportunity to choose what we really want in the long run (health and fitness). The dude that does
Motivation to Move is annoyingly chipper - but I gotta tell ya, he has a wonderful heart and his podcast is the BEST one to listen to while working out. The
Fat 2 Fit Radio show is a great motivator for hitting the gym, and they discuss and de-bunk a lot of diet gimmicks. It consists of two guys - one who is fit and another who is on his own weight loss journey.
The Reasonable Diet's 6 Minutes of Sanity is a woman who has excellent food tips that will be great when I'm in maintenance, but even now I really appreciate her encouraging nature. I also listen to
Weight Loss and the Mind, two Canadian dudes who use visualization and the laws of attraction to attain fitness goals. They crack themselves up, which cracks me up.
There's another one called
Real Weight Loss that I haven't checked out yet. They're all free and they all have websites where you can download their podcasts as well as from iTunes. Listening to them has helped me so much, so I wanted to share them with ya'll!
Troy (DH) and I had a chance to sit down with a calendar and plan out the budget for the next two months. I'm so glad we did! It all makes sense when we time it all out. Deep calming breath. Wooooosahhhh. We were able to plan out when to pay each of the bills and still have a little left over for fun each week - and fit in the trip to Indy, too.
Speaking of fun, I'm looking forward to the long weekend! WooHoo!
I work Friday and Saturday night, but Sunday night we're going to dinner and a movie with another couple and gf Melissa. Monday Melissa and I are going to a yoga center in the a.m. that is having a "Free Yoga Class Day." After that we're heading to Hamilton Pool, a natural spring out in the country near where we live. In the evening, a little live music in town. Can't wait!
Rodeo - we'll be in Lafayette, Indiana from Wed., Oct. 15th - Sun., Oct. 19th. Saturday we're going to the
Covered Bridge Festival. Have you heard of it? Would ya'll like to meet us there?
While I was in college my folks still lived in Asia, so whenever we had breaks I'd head to Indy and spend time with my mom's parents. So many wonderful memories! Papaw passed away in October of last year. Right after that Mamaw was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, which is progressing rapidly. My mom's sister sold her house and my grandparents, and they bought a bigger house to live in together. I know Mamaw won't remember Troy for long, but I'm so happy he'll get to meet her 'cause he'll remember her. Almost all of our family on both my mom and dad's sides are in Lafayette, and I can't wait to catch up with everyone!
Let me know if you find out about the cheaper airlines! We get a pretty good deal on car rentals thru our AAA account. We were planning to rent a car in the Indy airport but we could do that just as easily in Columbus. It would be so fun to see you!
