Feeling much more down to earth today. I actually went up an lb. :? Probably due to TOM. Actually, I woke up about 45 min before the alarm clock went off this morning. Half-asleep I grabbed the water bottle by the bed and drank the whole thing. That could be part of it, too.

Had my first work-out ever with a personal trainer today! I actually really enjoyed it. I'm a little on the OCD side, and I like having a set routine to follow. Once I get used to doing things in the same way, I really miss it if I don't do it. I'm hoping that annoying trait will kick in so I'll start to feel like I HAVE to exercise regularily!

Glad you enjoied your work out. Just remember to take it slow as you start. It doesn't look like you have been on MF for long this time and I know you said you have had some compliancy issues. Remember that they suggest you don't work out for the first 4-6 weeks and when you do to start SLOW.

Yes, take things slow, but the suggestion is to wait for 3 weeks when starting the program. Then as you begin to exercise, start with walking or something light and work up to it. If you feel okay, aren't hungry or fatigued, then increase the exercise.
The suggestion is to limit your exercise to no more than 45 minutes per day.

Yea - what he said! ;) I was concerned since you have already mentioned that you were feeling light headed or spacey recently. I mean I love to see ya getting excited about working out - I just don't want to see ya get knocked down.

Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow .... everything is sore! Actually as long as I don't have to reach for anyting over my head I should be good. Or have to stand up, sit up, walk - you know, anything requiring movement.

Yea, I know that feeling. The thing is you HAVE to move! I really mean it you MUST! In fact the more you move the better. Those muscles will tighten up even more if you don't use them when they are sore, then you will have to indure this all over again.

And be sure to stretch - a LOT - after you work out (and before, too, actually; I've taken to warming up for a few minutes and then stretching a bit before I start anything hard-core, and it's helping quite a bit).

What everyone else said, too. Don't go all-out at first or you're likely to overdo it and then burn out.

What does your trainer have you doing and how often? You don't want to be in so much discomfort that you cannot keep the program up!

The trainer did understand that I'm starting from sedentary and she did encourage me to warm up before each work out. Robin- good suggestion - I'll add some stretches a the end of the routine now, too! The trainer's bubbly, enthusiastic, four foot tall, size zero exterior definitely belies the dominatrix within the woman. She basically tortured me in increasingly creative ways over the course of an hour. At the end of the session, as I lay gasping on a mat on the floor, she happily pointed out that this had just been a session to teach me the moves, and that in actuality, I'd do everything we'd just done in sets of threes when I did the "real" workout. If I coulda caught my breath, I would've rolled over and squished her with my ample girth.

It's the lunges that are really making me sore! But ya'll are right - as long as I stay in motion, I'm good! I've been going out the the stairwell and walking up and down the stairs for a few minutes every 30 minutes or so to keep the thighs warm.

Yesterday Melissa and I (good friend of both mine and Troy's) treated ourselves to a pedicure. The massage is my favorite part! I totally blissed out. Then we met up with DH (Troy) and caught the early evening showing of Wall-E. Totally charming, sweet flick! There was humor, romance and a good dose of social and ecological commentary. We all absolutely loved it!

I feel ya on the lunges, after the Bob workout I did the last two weeks (oddly enough, there are hardly any lunges in the new workout).

But they're SO good for you.

Log me in the book of those who hate lunges, but begrudgingly admits to their benefits. Squats gets cataloged the same way for me, too. It really is a love - hate relationship.

I am OK with squats using the exercise ball and the wall otherwise I aggrivate my ankle. Lunges have not been added to my routine yet (also because of the ankle). I don't think I would like them though

Hello, All! Doing much better today - just a little tender in the thighs still. Walked 30 min on the treadmill yesterday and that helped loosen everyting up a lot. Been takin' a few soaks in the tub with Epsom salts, too. :D

I'm still stuck at 203. :? There have been a coupla days that I haven't gotten all of my meals in. Would that slow me down?

Then on the other side of things, I actually work a second job on the weekends. Friday I work 8-4:30, take a nap, then work 7p-7a Sat. I sleep during the day Sat, then go back 7p-7a, getting off Sun. morning. I've been having an L&G during the day Friday (last Friday a salad w/chicken), then a second one around 3am (just salad). Should I just stick with MF meals and only do 1 L&G in the 24 hr period?

Well, that second one isn't a Lean and Green if it's just salad. Where's the Lean? If you're doing that AND skipping some meals, then yes, most definitely you could be slowing your weight loss. And starving yourself, too, which is going to make your workouts harder (and counterproductive, because you won't be able to build muscle without adequate protein).
