BET YOU CAN RELATE TO THIS lol

I know I don't post often, I'm more of a reader, but I do come here often and read all your inspirational success stories.

I decided to share this.

Last summer my son had bought a new backyard table and chair set. I was visiting as were many other people and decided to sit in a chair. There were other heavy people sitting there so who would think I would have a problem. However, I COULDN'T FIT in the chair. I squeezed and finally got my fat <snip>language - Mr. Snippy</snip> in. Now the question was how would I get out of it. I figured if I tried to stand, the chair was coming with me. :x My thought was that I would have to sit there all day till everyone went home, but I was so miserably uncomfortable and the arms of the chair were killing my hips, that I thought I have to get out of this chair before I am completely bruised. I carefully squeezed my way out, the same way I got in to it. What a relief!!!! I walked around a bit and was so glad that someone took that seat so I didn't have to go through the humiliation again. A nice gentleman offered me the seat back and I gladly said "NO THANK YOU, I'LL STAND" :D

Okay, now standing my back started to hurt, my feet were swelling from all the weight I was holding up. I could not wait to get inside to the couch where I could nicely fit. Needless to say, it was not an enjoyable day.

Well today was my son's birthday and we had a barbecue in his backyard. I looked at that old faithful chair and started to think. This could work now. OMG. it wasn't even a problem I could sit, stand, cross my legs, slump in it. do it all!!!

And all it took was 47 lbs off of this fat body. I still have about another 30 to go, but by then I should be able to sit in that chair and share it with my grandson who is 1 years old.

I know now I will enjoy this Summer in my son's backyard.

THANK YOU MEDIFAST - I LOVE YOU and the chair loves you too. I won't be the one to break it!!!

That's awesome! I am afraid to play at the playground with my kids. I am afraid I will get stuck in the slide and the fire dept. will have to come cut me out. I can see the 10:00 news now....A woman gets stuck in the spiral slide at Southwest park. The Randall County fire dept. has to come and cut her out. What will this cost taxpayers to repair the playground equipment? Should the city post warning signs and hold people responsible for damage done to the equipment? Tonight on News channel 10. And then the picture of me being hoisted out of the slide and escorted to my car while my kids watch in humilliation! Not for long, though!! I am on my weigh.

What you said about the playground can be a reality. :D

I was with a friend in Atlantic City many years ago, who was very very big. We were coming down a narrow escalator when she lost her footing. She fell and was jammed in the escalator. Luckily security that was standing at the bottom was able to shut it down but she was STUCK!!!.

She was devastated. I stood there laughing which is my usual reaction to people falling, (I know it's bad). To make matters worse, they needed 2 big men to unjam her. Then for the grand finale, they brought over a wheelchair and she couldn't fit in the wheelchair. People crowded around and I could see the smirks on their faces, while she sat there crying.

I know now that I think back to it that it wasn't really that funny but was really rather sad.

I have so many stories that I can tell about her over the years, some funny, some sad but I never thought I would be in that position, but it happened.

NEVER AGAIN THOUGH THANKS AGAIN TO MEDIFAST :D

I can so relate to your story, Redhed! Aside from all the times I've gotted stuck in lawn chairs or just didn't even sit down because I knew I wouldn't fit.....We have andirondak chairs that are big and roomy. Getting on and sitting was no problem, but when it came time to get out.....well....let's just say it took alot of planning, lol. I had to scooch my butt out to the edge and then use both arms to help lift my body out of that low spot.....sheezz....I'm sure I was quite a sight. Sometimes, I even kind of rolled out of them onto the ground first and then had to figure out how to stand up. Anyway, any time we had friends over, there was no way I was sitting on those chairs.

This spring when we got the chairs out and dusted off, I immediately sat down (hmmm, they seemed bigger somehow).....then miracle of miracles, I stood back up! No grunting, not hoisting, no 1 2 3 gooooo, no holding my breath, no tipping the chair over.....

Little victories....gotta love em!

Congratulations to you, Redhead. What an achievement...and to all of you that have had similar victories. I remember many times that I was ill equiped to deal with situations I was in, whether airplane seats or small folding chairs right next to each other when sitting in a convention. One in particular bothered me; I had an experience where I was worried that I could not get out.

A few years ago, I needed to have an MRI. I was so worried that I would not be able to fit. They told me that it would hold a person up to 300 pounds, but what they meant was a 6 foot man who weighed 300. I knew that my weight plus my 5' 4" frame put me at risk for getting stuck. We went ahead with the MRI; it was such a tight squeeze. There was really no room around me at my belly and hips. I kept focusing and trying to stay calm. In the end, with taking it slow, I was able to emerge from that thing without a problem. If I had started sweating, though, I know I would not have made it out. That is something I never want to happen again--thankfully, with 70 pounds off (and I have every determination to keep this off), it never will!
