bad week

Postby pumkiepoo » October 28th, 2005, 6:38 pm

It's been a couple days since i've been able to post. This week i had a lot of unexpected and unwanted lunch/dinner dates. I had friends and family in from out of town, bridal shower, hurricane mess and work stuff. I didn't do very well although i stuck to salads at the meals i just felt like i wasn't doing well. Did i mentionHalloween is coming up and the kids have all this candy and it is just calling my name anywho i didn't lose any weight this week and i actually gained 1/2 a pound. So tomorrow back to basics. Wish me luck as i try again.

Good luck :D I hear ya about the Halloween candy. Gosh, I enjoy it--my huge downfall is candy corn. Anyway, I guess we should probably have a plan or something to avoid impulsive eating. Maybe there's someone around here who is willing to share their ideas? In this case, tossing it just isn't an option.

Hard Week

Postby Jan » October 30th, 2005, 7:24 pm

Hi Pumkie,
I see that you had a week of lots of foody temptations. But, you stuck mainly to salads. Give yourself a pat on the back. The 1/2 pound will be gone before you know it. Just pick yourself up and get back on program. You can do it.
Now to the candy :x Such a temptation. It is really difficult but we need to remember that we know what it tastes like - we've had it before so we don't need to taste it. And, it certainly causes us problems on program. We also can get sugar highs and lows. When we are on maintenance we can taste a tad again. It is not going to disappear. It will be around to temp still others who are trying to part with the pounds. Try to see it for what it is -- a pile of sugar and fat and artery clogging grease. Plus, it really doesn't even taste that wonderful -- most of it is far toooooo sweet.
You'll make it
