Bad Breath Issues

Postby FORMOMMY » March 24th, 2006, 2:30 pm

So when your 5 and 7 year old old their nose at times and say "Mama you have stinky breath" - it's time to ask the question.

If you have this problem, how do you combat it? I smelled something "off" the other day and figured out IT WAS MY BREATH!!!

I know we can have up to 5 sticks of sugarless gum. YAY!
I chew Extra Wintergreen. I hate that "hot" mouth feeling. Have for years. I always feel like I have bad breath if my mouth gets hot.

I think you can also have sugarless mints. Not sure how many though. Someone else will chime in here with more advise, I'm sure. ;)

Sugar free mints, baby! :D

I think once your body goes into ketosis you get a "metal mouth." But, I'm no expert and certainly no health advisor. I read that somewhere. What I do know though is sugar free mints are a staple.

Hi

I like those listerine strips. They dissolve on the tongue, and I pop one in before I have to talk to anyone!

I'll take "ketosis breath" ANY DAY OF THE WEEK if it means I keep losing weight like I am now!

Don't get me wrong....I'm not stopping this plan!!!

I am not a gum chewer - never have been - so I rely on sugar free mints. But it is hard when all of a sudden someone is about a foot away from your face and for a split second you panic - oh no.....do I smell "stinky" as my kids say. :?

The price I have to pay for thinnyville I guess!! :yippee:

maybe you might try those body mint supplements. they help with all sorts of things like bad breath, stinky feet, and body odor. i had bought some for my husband a while back, because he is a marine and has to run about 6 miles a day....hence the stinky feet problem. lol. but it would be convenient for you. just an idea.

Joelie ... I believe the max is five per day of total consumption of SF gum or SF mints.

My wife, a dental hygenist, uses that highly technical phrase, "Geez, your breath is bad !" She recommends the Listerine strips as well. In a backwards kind of way, at least I know when I'm in ketosis, my breath is horrible and I'm getting thinner. Not an ideal situation but I'll take it any day.

ktrout - maybe my daughter is a dental hygenist in the making - HA!

Guess I'll get some of those strips.

Bad breath - pounds melting away.....easy trade off!

Haha, my breath is horrible too

That's one of the only things I won't miss when I get out of ketosis :)

But mints and listerine strips are the way to go IMO!

I found out brushing teeths are useless since the breath comes from inside, not from bacterias in mouth.

Oh well, little price for big results :D

I use mints too. I just put it in my cheek, so it lasts longer. LOL! Thank goodness they're small so I don't look like the Godfather. But mints are my friend.
