Hi all,
I am a previous member that is back again. I am a 38 year old man from SE Texas. I work as a prosecutor and county attorney.
Because of some events in my life about seven years ago, I went from the 175 that I had weighed most of my adult life to 220 lbs. I managed to lose down to about 205 using Atkins. A friend told me about Medifast and I gathered the will power to try it. The weight melted off so easily that I was down to 183 within 60 days. Honestly, as I read these boards then, I could not figure out what the struggle was all about. Now, I can relate.
After I lost the weight, my wife and I went on a renovation spree to finish her hair salon and got in the habit of eating fast food almost every night. Our stress level went way up and so did the weight. Since that time (July 2006) I have repeatedly tried to get back on the wagon, but have failed to do so. My weight is now 235 and I lose my breath climbing steps, sleep apnea and lots of BP meds. This HAS to stop.
Today is my first day on and I have done okay so far. I have had two shakes so far and limited myself to vegetables and unsweetened tea at the bar meeting. The evenings are usually my worst time as I tend to binge eat until I literally cannot breathe.
Anyway, that is my story. I am a bottom line kind of guy that can handle direct criticism and give it as well. I do not like to sugar coat and do not expect others to sugar coat things to me. All I ask for is honest help and support and I will give the same.
Thanks all,
Doug
