Aztec Hot Cocoa

Postby Nova » June 13th, 2006, 10:58 am

Got this idea from Vosges chocolates, which I adore.

Hot cocoa packet
8-10 oz water
1/4-1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/8-1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
splash vanilla extract
(I don't measure, I just shake)

Mix it up and drink it hot or cold. It's got a nice hint of warmth in the back of your throat when you drink it. Go easy on the cayenne until you figure out how much you like!

I'm with you, Nova!
I always (well, used to...)hit my brownie batter with a dash of hot sauce. I also add cocoa to my chili, deepens the flavor.
I'm off for my nightly Hotter Cocoa- :beerbeer:

Yup, this is really good. I don't like it all that much cold, but it is really good hot. To me when I drink it cold it just tastes like I let hot chocolate get cold, not so much like chocolate milk or anything like that.
I started adding those things either together or separately for as long as I can remember and I am never disappointed. Good mention!

Plus, adding some cayenne helps burn some calories, too!
