Apple Cinny Muffin!

Postby MusicalMomma » March 29th, 2006, 1:42 pm

OK, I took the peach muffin recipe and just changed the cinnimon spice to APPLE PIE spice AND I spray the top with I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spray about 3 minutes before taking it out of the oven! It comes out with a glossy top and is oh so yummy ;)

Here's the recipe so you don't have to do a search:

1 packet Apple Cinnamon oatmeal
1/8 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp vanilla
1-2 packets splenda
1/8 tsp Apple Pie Spice
1/3C water

mix dry ingredients and add water and vanilla put in a 6oz corning ware dish sprayed with PAM (I use a heart shapped tart pan for added ambiance ;) ) and put in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 22-25min

I took this one step further (I used the apple cin oatmeal) I used about a 6 inch oval shaped corning wear dish and spread about 1 tblspn of Walden Farms Apple Butter on top. Tasted like fresh apple pie! mmm

They sound great! I have to ask if they stay puffy like a muffin though. When I cook my cookies, the recipe is not much different and they are pretty flat, but soft. I made the brownie recipe that is posted and they looked like muffins (I made the brownies in cupcake tins) when they came out of the oven but after they started to cool they collapsed.

Just wondering. I'm going to try these tomorrow!

Mine were not real fluffy, kind of like a bread pudding. But Yummy all the same!

Their shipping time is HORRIBLE, but the prices are good. I ordered mine on 3/16 and it didn't come in until today. But the Apple Butter was sooooo worth the wait!! I got the raspberry spread too! I should put another order in for the apple butter cuz I can tell its not gonna last long.

Do you have a food lion out there? I found the whole walden farms line of products at mine. Worth a shot to save you the agony of ordering online again.

Does anybody know what the fruit spreads are made of so that they have NO carbs? Is it just a very small amount of real fruit - small enough that one serving can be listed as having no carbs?

Geri:

Thank you for listing the ingredients in the Walden Farms spreads. I may have to order some. I looked at the store today and couldn't find any. Now the problem is what to put them on. Toast and peanut butter just might not be allowed. ;)

OK, I'm convinced...If I don't find any in Green Bay this weekend, I will order them....it sounds HEAVENLY! An ENTIRE TABLESPOON is ZERO calories???? Sign me up!

OK, the question is...do you simply dab it into the middle of the mixture or spread it on after it's cooked?

My local Pick n Save carried the Walden Farms Fruit Spread. Maybe I am just lucky.

I have had no luck finding anywhere the Da Vinci syrups so I order those.

These apple cinny muffins are so good with a bit of the Apple Butter spread. It has quickly become my favorite meal. I am going to try the Strawberry spread today as I love strawberries.

Thanks for the recipe!! :yourock:

I cook the oatmeal, when its done turn off the oven dab my tblspn of fruit spread on it and stick it back in the oven while its cooling down so it is warm and melty (about 5 min) then take it out and spread it around, it is absolutley wonderful.

Have a great time in Green Bay!!
