Anyone in Seattle?

Postby Elizabeth » March 14th, 2007, 12:41 pm

I'm looking for accommodations in Seattle for one night (while in transit to Vancouver for an Alaskan cruise) and would like to stay at a nice hotel with a view and not too far from the airport. Any suggestions?

Hi Elizabeth,

I'm in Seattle. Unfortunately the airport is not exactly by the water, and (like many airports) not a great spot to stay if you don't have to. How much time do you have before you leave for Vancouver?

Downtown Seattle is probably a 20 minute (not mile) drive. Many hotels offer shuttles and I think a taxi is about $25. My favorite little hotel downtown is the 'Inn at the Market'. Be sure and get a waterfront view. It is right in the Pike Place Market and is a little gem tucked in a beautiful spot.

You can also try the Marriott Seattle Waterfront, The Edgewater - both right on the water. If you don't need to be ON the water but would like a nice view - try the W, the Westin or the Grand Hyatt. Again request water facing rooms.

I hope you have a wonderful trip!!
Cheers!
