Hi Aimee, (and all you other Texans) :stroll:

Well, I'm another gal from Texas - just north of you a little bit - in Austin. I like your idea of a lil Texas club...how's about the "Lone Star :star: Gals" or something like that??? I'm going to be (re) starting on Medifast tomorrow & just got online for a few minutes before I go to bed to check in and say "Hi" and get the accountability started for me to get back on plan.

I had lost 38 pounds in April, May & June. :whoohoo: I began slacking off a bit in late June & July and then we went on vacation the beginning of August. I packed all my Medifast goodies & even my magic bullet - but didn't use ANY of it while I was gone. :whip: Then - when we got home - I weighed and was thrilled that I had only gained 1.5 pounds - so then I figured that I would just enjoy my little "break" (which included my son's, my dad's birthday & mine too) and start again whole-heartedly when school starts - which is tomorrow. (Now, as of this morning, I'm up 2.5 pounds.....soooo, here I am - ready to be a big loser again!!!

I'm super excited to get back on track - but even more thrilled that while I've been eating real foods again that I didn't gain a whole bunch back. Now I even have more faith in the program because when I reach my goal....I believe I will be able to KEEP it off (which I have been somewhat worried about).

Well, now I've been ramblin...but I also wanted to say "A BIG HELLO" :byebye: to everyone & I'll read up on all the posts I've been missing & see who all is still here! I hope ya'll have had a great summer!!!

Hi Nancy!!!

Well, I'm about to sign off for the night, but the little catchin up I've been trying to do has been fun. It looks like you've been busy today answering lots & lots of posts!! I love it so much that you take the time to read everything. We value your knowledge & opinions & we're all sooo lucky to have you cheering us all on!!

I've been in touch with Sherri and got my new month supply last week - so I'm totally ready.

Yeah....our school does start early - uh? I used to live in Pennsylvania (and Boston) and I really liked the post-Labor day starts better than this. It's like we're still in the middle of summer!!

Oh & about that club name...I guess I forgot about ole Eddie!!! So, yeah...we should call it "guys & gals"!! I just read an update from him and he's doing sooo good!! It looks like I haven't been the only one MIA - which makes me feel a little better - but now it's time to round up the gang and get everyone losin again!!

Thanks again Nancy!!

Scorpions? I need to stop reading this thread!

As for stress, if it hasn't hurt me so far, I don't see how it can now. The past month has involved I think four or five trips out of town for interviews in various cities (usually with anywhere from no sleep to about 3 hours), negotiations with two different places, preparing for the move (luckily they pay for the whole thing, so no packing and no real moving for me) ... all while my dog was also having surgery. I think I've had one week where I lost slightly less than usual, but that's it.

From here on is the easiest part. I go out tomorrow to find a place to live, then go on vacation for a week, then have the movers come and pack me up. I leave town Labor Day weekend (on my birthday; don't ask). In some ways, doing Medifast has been making it easier; I don't have to worry about buying or cooking food, and if I'm crunched for time I just grab an RTD and a bottle of water, and I'm out the door.

Hi Aimee!!

That's ok...I'm not too hip on the "forum" thing either. This is the first one I've ever been a part of....it's fun though - uh??? (and quite addictive)
So - last night when I logged in and clicked "view posts since last visit" - I had like 203 new posts. I just about died!! Anyway, there's no way I'll be able to read all of them - but I had fun catching up for at least an hour last night.

So, I read about your first day earlier this evening & it sounds like you're off to a great start! My "first" day back was pretty good too. It's about 11:30 and I guess I need to get one more shake in before I get to bed - but other than that, it's been fine. I had 3 shakes, 1 chicken noodle soup (but somehow there were NO noodles & I mean NONE....it was sooo weird....I've had that soup before and this package must have just had missing noodles) and I had a lean/green meal of a baked tilapia filet and some chopped broccoli. I probably didn't get quite enough water in today....I had 3 bottles - but should have had 4-5....but I'll do better on that tomorrow.

Well - where do you work this late at night? I'll talk to ya more later & next time ya'll come to Austin - let me know!! I'm pretty sure that I read last night someone else is here in Austin too....we could have a Mediparty!! (hehe!!)

Robin, you must feel like a hamster runnin' on a wheel!

I think you're right - Medifast is the only constant in your life right now!

Have fun house hunting!

Anyone in TX?

Postby JulieAnn » August 17th, 2005, 11:02 am

Howdy Aimalasplace,

I live in Fort Worth, Texas. I was born in Akron, OH and have lived in several states but have lived in Fort Worth, Texas since elementary school. My hubby is born and raised in southeast Texas and is as Texan as they come. I must say I love Texas! We visited San Antonio this summer, its about a 4.5 hour drive for us. We went to Sea World (loved it) and Fiesta Texas (not so much) on vacation. There is a Six Flags here in Arlington and I like it better than Fiesta Texas even though Fiesta Texas has a water park. Anyway , I would love to be an email buddy. I have to say we have had water bugs from time to time coming in the garage but we have never had a roach problem but then again we have a service come spray. The heat here is really bad but we just plan our life from Oct to May outdoors unless we go boating or some place you can get relief from the heat.

Welcome to Texas and good luck with Medifast. I know it has saved my life.

Pesky Fire Ants

Postby aimalasplace » August 21st, 2005, 10:46 pm

I just had my first experience with FIRE ANTS!!!!!!!! I had knocked over the trash can earlier and I had to put out more trash, I just put it upright in the dark. Well halfway into my door I felt this horrible burning, pinching, and biting feeling all over my hand. When I got inside it had about 15 fire ants on my hand eatting me so I panic and ran to the sink to wash them off and down the drain, my hand Hurts soooo bad now. I don't know how to get rid of the pain I have go all these whiteish/reddish marks. :x It could be worse I know but still.

Aimeé ~

Yikes! :lightening: Fire Ants???? Creepy!

You poor thing!

 What if they crawl out of the sink drain, Aimeé?

I hope you turned on the garbage disposal so those buggars got all chewed up.

Sounds like picnics in your area are out of the question, eh?

:hmmm: I know what they suggest for sea urchin stings...

LOL that was the first thing I thought of....Since I have been drinking sooo much I could have done it LOL
The sting has gone away and I'm not as swollen as I though I was gonna be. As for the ants I washed them away with Scalding hot water. I am confient they won't get me in my sleep (when ever I get there)

 just discovered a family of :x skeeters munched out on my neck, shoulders and back...
:aarggh: I am  allergic to them so I am taking two Benadryl and will soon be :snooze: unconscious myself...

 Hah!

That is :bounce: wild, Melting Martha!

Guess we are :stroll: kindred spirits, eh?

I avoid :snooze: dusk and  dawn yard duty, too for that very same reason.

Our yard is shaded and the pond, ferns, violets, hydrangeas, etc. provide a lovely dwelling place for them, I'm sure.

They are big as Buicks :drive: here.

The thought of West Nile :muahaha: creeps me out, too. ( :scratchhead: hmm...I'm just a creepy gal)

:point:
I smell like bug spray

That's why I wear Boo-cher-on and Estee Lauder's Boo-tiful...
it scares 'em away!!!
