Honestly Martha, not that I have noticed, but I have yet to complete my first month. I will be watching to see what others have to say. Mytime

Not me. I bump into things all the time (I'm the world's biggest klutz), but I haven't seen any abnormal bruising.

Martha,

I am normally an easy bruiser, and really it doesn't have to even hurt for me to bruise. I bump a shin or an arm and the next day appears a bruise. However, I have not noticed INCREASING bruising since beginning MF in April. I would mention it at your next dr. appt (you full-fast a lot, so you see a dr. regularly right?) I would be concerned that if this is DIFFERENT than what you have experienced in the past that there might be a medical reason for it. Definitely mention this to the dr. and let us know what they say!

Bruising

Postby Jan » July 20th, 2005, 11:23 am

Hi There Martha,
I'd suggest a visit to the Dr. too. I'm very light skinned and bruise very very easily but haven't noticed any increase in bruising at all. I've been on the program for almost 5 months now so I should be seeing an increase if the program has anything to do with it. Better check it out. Maybe Nancy will have an idea.

Martha,

I used to bruise easily on my shins without even knowing it. But since I've been on MF I don't bruise at all. At least I haven't noticed. Hope it gets better!

Hi martha

im sorry to hear you are having bruising : (

i havent experienced that (i started in may) so i agree with sheila and jan, let your doc know. on a side note: a friend of mine's 2 year old had constant bruises (from absolutely anything!) and it turned out to be caused by a vitamin c deficiency (which i guess is fairly common in children), but that shouldnt be the case here with MF and have no clue about if this is the case with adults . hmmm? im definitely NO DOCTOR but thought i share the experience i know about with increased bruising... good luck and let us know what you find out

take care

Matha:

I'm sorry you're brusing. Are they dark bruses or just a little discolored? I'm not brusing at all. I agree with the others....be sure to mention it to your doctor. And please let us know.

Dear Martha the Marvelous ~

Yikes? Excessive bruising? Nope, I have not had anyone ever mention that to me.

We should always give our health practitioner a ringy-dingy when there are noticeable changes in our health.

I used to have more bruises before Medifasting. I have pernicious anemia due to a hereditary situation from my Grammy and Mom– my intestines fail to absorb B12 properly and for a long time I had to have weekly iron shots. Now I take folic acid, eat plenty of spinach and iron-rich grub and my blood tests have improved because of the Medifast vitamin premixes (the Medigrub packets contain the essential vitamins and minerals).

There could a couple of things happening here:
You could be moving around more because you are thinner and have more energy and therefore crashing into more objects; you could be looking at your bod more – when I was a chubbette, I never looked at myself nekkid and certainly not ever in a well-lighted room! In fact, I only looked at myself from the nose up. You could just be more aware of it now that you are scrutinizing your bod more.

Let us know what your doc has to say – we care about you!

I have been pushing the lawn mower more instead of riding the other one.. and Maybe have bumped around more.. I lift the wheelchair alot putting it in and out in the back of the P.T. cruiser.. Must be bumping myself more than usual..Just wondered if it was me or not.. Started to ask about 1 month ago but thought it was silly so I didn't.. thanks for all of your help and advice.. when I see the Dr. next time I will ask.. Martha
