Any suggestions on storing & oganization of Medifast Mea

Postby ChiNut » March 30th, 2006, 8:45 pm

I recently received my 5 weeks worth of Medifast Meals. I currently have the big box sitting on my kitchen floor and dig through the boxes to find what I want to eat for the next day which is a total pain. :dohdoh: How does everyone else organize their supplements? There's just so many boxes. I'm open to any and all suggestions.

Thanks!

I keep about 3 packets of each item in a basket in my pantry and store the rest in a box in my spare bedroom until I need them.

I keep one box of my favorites on the counter stacked next to the backsplash, the rest I cleaned out my "flour, baking, sugar cabinet" to store the other boxes

I have one big section of my kitchen cabinets cleared and reserved just for Medifast. Then I group the boxes by soups/chilis, oatmeals, puddings, etc.

The trouble comes when I order stuff by the case because it's on sale or just to get the case discount.

I'm like you ChiNut, I have the big box sitting on my kitchen floor LOL.

I did put what I could fit in the cupboard though! Our house just has hardly any storage, we are trying to sell it so we have room. :)

I have emptied pretty much everything out of my cabinets, so I organize them by product. That way, it's really easy to pick what I want, and it always helps me keep track of exactly how much stuff I have left.

Thanks everyone for the great ideas. I think I may just need to clean out the pantry and make room for my Medifast stuff. I'm just dreading actually doing it.

You could always buy one of those big plastic containers that they sell at Target/Wal-Mart.

I bought seperate clear container that I can store the packets in and then I pasted the cover from the front of the box to the front of the container and I can know which container has what in it.

If have left overs that don't fit, then I put them in a box and store them until I'm ready for them.

Storage

Postby Jan » March 31st, 2006, 7:39 pm

Hmmmmm
My friend the interior decorator told me to remove my appliances from the counter top and store them away in a cupboard. So I cleaned out a cupboard just for the appliances. Then I got on the MF program. Yup, the appliances are right back on the counter -- cluttered and all -- and the MF has it's very own cupboard. I arrange them similar to Robin, by type.

Laura I love your idea. I may have to give that a try. Doing it that way wouldn't take up so much space.

Personally, I pull all the packets out of their boxes and put them in this suitcase (that I made cool little dividers for so I don't get a chocolate when I'm jonesing for bananna, and have the RTD's in this other section. I grab what I need in my igloo cooler (soft-sided) and put the rest on the support truck that travels with us...uh, what? This isn't what everybody does? What's a cupboard?

A friend of mine gets a bunch of large ziplocks and puts 5 MF envelopes in each .... basically makes a grab bag. You could place a weeks worth of these grab bags in the kitchen cupboard and leave the rest in storage.

Actually thot that would be a good idea - every day would be a surprise and no more eating all your favorites and then left with the least favorites at the end of the box. I just need to make sure I have oatmeal in each envelope. hehe

I got rid of the boxes, and made up 'meal packs'. also. I just slipped an elastic around them, didn't think about plastic storage bags, which would be better--duh, think, Joan, think! I 'stand' the packets up in a long and somewhat narrow plastic storage container, which allows me to see when I am running low on food and time to re-order. Just by looking, you know how many day's supply of MF you have left. I store the packets in a closet, and grab one on each day.
