Hey, folks-
So I always joke with my friends and family that I currently have a 3 week cycle for clothes fitting while I've been on MF. First week the clothes are slightly too tight, second week they're just right, and third week they're too loose. Things like sweaters and cotton tops can last a bit longer, but pants just look too baggy after 3 weeks, so I've been personally and single-handedly keeping Goodwill stocked with my clothes, and constantly buying new stuff at pretty inexpensive places like Old Navy.
Let me mention that I don't enjoy shopping. Never have, never will.. I've always loved to have nice things, and take great pride in my appearance (at any weight), but find shopping to be an unbelievable waste of time.
Anyway, and I'm sorry for such a loooong post, but on Saturday I really needed to get some more stuff, to get me through the next 3 week cycle! :-) So I headed over to Lord & Taylor's Women's dept, thinking they'd have everything from work clothes to beach wear. It was good for the ego, as I fit into the smallest size available all across this plus size floor. I was happy, paid for my stuff, and hit the escalator to leave. But three floors down was the Misses/Ladies dept - you know, the one with the cute clothes? ?? :-) I have not even entered a Misses/Ladies section for myself in well over 10 years, there was no point in going, as it never fit. But this time I figured - hmm, maybe it's worth a shot. I grabbed a couple of cute pairs of jeans and denim gaucho pants, and ran into the dressing room. I left with two pairs of pants - one a Kenneth Cole, the other DKNY, both size 14, both fit perfectly, not even snug.
I literally almost cried at the cash register. Not sure if any thin people would understand the significance here, but I suspect you all will.
Life is good.
