Hello from rainy Florida!

I'm new to MF my first shippment came in today! I'm so excited to get started this Sunday. I'm currently 170lbs and would like to loose 30lbs. Aside from feeling more comfortable the main reason for wanting to loose the weight is b/c my hubby and I want to start a family. Approx. 3 years ago I lost 40lbs on Weight Watchers. It worked great for me 3 years ago but it's just not doing the trick anymore. What I feel like I need is structure...a plan w/ NO guessing. Looks like MF is the plan.

I've read all the included information (Quick Start Guide) and have browsed through this site but still have lots of question. I hope this is a good place for some help.

I suppose I'll start slow with the questions and one that's probably essential to starting. Here we go.........

Ok I get the 5 MF meals a day and one Lean Green meal but what I'd like is a break down. Example: What do I have 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. Can anyone tell me what works best for them - I would love some suggestions.

Thanks in advance - I look forward to getting to know some of you!

Hi There,
We used to have three shakes each day but that is no longer required. The only "rule" now is one bar a day (if you choose to have one) plus, please do not have the bar as your first or last meal. That has to do with the higher carb content and a "carb push". Other than that, pick what you like. The oatmeal seems to be a little more filling so I sometimes had that as my last meal of the day. I'd head to bed with a nice warm full tummy. The whey products...hot cocoa, cappuchino, chai tea, iced tea, fruit drinks and cream soups seem to be a little less filling. Many people have one of these when they are feeling less hungry. Don't worry you won't feel hungry for tooo long. :D The first three days are the hardest -- after that the hunger generally subsides. I have to remind people to eat!!! You may experience a headache during the first three days too, or feel a little bit weak. A cup of hot bouillon -- the regular kind helps -- aspirin, tylenol ect are fine if you do get a headache.
You'll do fine and soon we'll be all cheering for you as you part with the pounds.

Well first, let me welcome you to the BEST support board you will EVER find!!!

Now, It is totally up to you on what order you want to eat your 5&1. You can have any of the Medifast meals as replacements except the fast soups and snacks. It is suggested that you fit 2 shakes in a day, however, you can have tropical punch drink for all 5 meals if that is what you wish.

Didn't I read somewhere on here that a person has pudding 5 times a day and did that for months! You will find that your tastes will change. What you liked in the beginning will be different later on.

You just want to make sure you eat about every 3 hours..anything over that and people tend to start eating things outside their plan.

30lbs is all you want to loose!! You aren't going to have ANY problems, you stick to the plan and you are on your way to Optimal Health!!!

Take each day one at a time...even break it down to each 3 hours :)
Let us know how your first couple of days go...we are all here to support you!!!

Looks like your first question has been answered. Feel free to fire away with the questions. We all had them and even after 4 months I still have questions.

Make sure to visit the Lean Cusine section. Some great ideas to spruce up the meals.

Good Luck!!

Welcome to our happy, shaking family!!!

This is the greatest support board you could ever find. All of us are battling the same food demon and kissing our pounds goodbye!!

Many of us have been Weight Watchers... and many of us have gained the pounds back. I'm not knocking Weight Watchers whatsoever..... I just love the structure and rewards that this program provides. It works great with my busy lifestyle.... and weight comes off QUICKLY if you follow it completely.

Good luck and definitely don't feel shy about the questions.
