well...newbie to the forum. Not to Medifast...YET. ;)
I haven't ordered yet. But I will!

I've been researching and reading and researching and reading. Procrastinating? Maybe. More scared though, I think. Image

My name is Ariana, I am 38 years old and extremely unhappy/frustrated with myself. I can't stand the way I look or feel any longer. I am 5'3" at 250 freaking pounds. Holy camoly! How the heck did this happen? Image It creeped up on me! I swear it wasn't here...ummm...10-15-20 years ago! Image
Yep...I'm the typical, yo-yo dieter...each time I start one of the million and one fad diets out there, I lose little bits and gain TONS back.
I'm the type that needs to see and/or feel fast results or I just get frustrated and give up. This sounds like THE life change I have been looking for.
You all seem like such a fantastic group of people, hope you have room for another. Image

Quick question on the lean and green meal. I'm a vegetarian so I obviously won't be eating any meat. Are there any other veggies here? If so...what do you use to substitute?

Welcome Joelie. I am pretty much right where you are I have an inch of height on ya! I started at 250 on 228 and as of Tuesday was down 10 lbs. Im no longer hungry and the food taste better every day, my energy has went wayyyyy up. Im the single mom of 2 teenage boys so we are always on the go and this plan is simple, easy and quite tasty. You won't be sorry!! And this message board is FULL of information. I poured over practically every board last weekend. You can supplement your lean with lowfat cottage cheese I know, but I am sure there is more and you will get your questions answered here that much I know for SURE!! Welcome and awayyyyy weee goooo!!

Welcome! This is a decision you won't regret making. I truly can't remember ever feeling this GOOD (healthy) in my life, even before I gained all the weight. My blood pressure is down, my asthma symptoms have lessened, my complexion has improved dramatically . . . oh, and on top of all that, I've lost 30 lbs in just under two months. :D As long as you work the program according to the guidelines, you will lose weight, and feel good doing it!

There are vegetarian substitutions for the lean portion of the lean and grean:
The Quick Start Guide that comes with your order wrote:Vegetarians may substitute 1 cup low-fat cheese, 2 eggs (limit to 3 times a week), 1/2 - 1 cup of egg substitute, 1/2 block firm tofu, 1 (4"x2") piece of soft tofu, 1/2 - 1 cup low-fat cottage cheese, on Boca Burger, or Morning Star Burger.

I'm not so sure what kind of low-fat cheese they're talking about, and I've been warned away from cheese in general until maintenance (probably for the best, anyway, I can see myself going a little crazy with the portion size). But I've even used the eggs and the cottage cheese a couple of times (on separate occasions, of course) when I just couldn't stomach any more chicken. Welcome aboard - hope this helps!

And to answer your other question, yes, there are other vegetarians on here. I'm not one of 'em, but I know there are at least a few who post pretty regularly. I'm sure they'll be along to say hi and offer suggestions.

Welcome Jolie!! We're glad you're here! I waited 9 months after my (now) health advisor began medifast. She's now lost over 130lbs in less than a year!!! I waited, and watched her shrink from month to month, and I waited some more, afraid of paying the money and failing AGAIN! Well, it's been a little less than 8 weeks for me and I am down 30+ pounds! I saw fast results and it kept me motivated!!! I know there are veggitarian's on the forum and they will chime in with their suggestions :)

Hi Joelie,

Welcome to the group and congratulations on placing your order. The day it arrives you will feel like a kid at Christmas. Read and reread the Quick Start guide that comes with your order. It will become your best friend on this wonderful journey. And drink all your water each day!!!

I have been on MF for six weeks and have lost 22 pounds. But better than that, I feel fabulous, I sleep better and I have tons of energy. I am a very picky eater and I have yet to find an MF product I haven't liked. Be sure to read through the posts on the Lean Cuisine section of this Forum. Lot's of great tips on making the supplements taste even better.

Keep us posted on your prgress and be sure to join the Sunday Morning Roll Call each week. This Forum is the best and we are always here to listen, support and celebrate with you!!

Welcome to the board. I have to tell you I could've written your post word for word. I didn't even realize I was as big as I was.

Good luck with Medifast. I love it.
