To Grandmom from another Grandmom, WELCOME!!!
Your story sounds like mine, sans the drinking(late husband used to call me 'one whiff', I never could get a complete drink down)! I quit smoking eight years ago. I finally 'woke up' in March and started MF on the 30th, never have looked back since!
Like others have said, the first three days are a bit tough, as your body adjusts to a 'new way of life'. But, very soon, you will feel great, have more energy, know you are getting nutrients you need, and doing without those, you don't need. I pass fast food places now, with pleasure, and never ever plan on getting into the drive-up lane ever again. Not even for a salad. Fast foods, and large portions, got me here, combined with a slow metabolism with having thyroid problems. I will not put this body through another session of yo-yo-ing, not at this age. When I now say, 'never again', I mean 'never again'!!!
If you have any questions, just ask them on the forum. You already found out that the best people in the world post on here. Or, PM if you prefer. Just get through each day, and before you know it, you will have completed one week, and you will learn to love a scale, like many have done! Not to mention smaller clothing sizes!! Again, welcome!
