The annoying nosy co-worker came over to me and said quite loudly "What are you doing? Starving yourself? You never eat anything but those shakes. What are you trying to do? Kill yourself by starvation?"

I would have said, just as loudly, "Oops you dropped something right there (pointing to the ground) - I think it is your manners. Would you like me to help you with those?".
But that is just me - naturally sarcastic and no holds barred!

It's not like I look like those anorexic freaks Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie!!! What would trigger her to say those things? Ahhh... maybe it is because she is gaining some weight and is unhappy that I am losing?

I think it is more of a difference in what gets to us as females as opposed to things that bother men. That would have never bothered my dh but it would have bugged me.

That comment wouldnt have bothered me at all...especially since I am FAR from being anywhere near tiny.

Love the manners comment--that sounds like something I would have said.

I know that people are nosy, ill-mannered, and all around "don't want anyone near me to be happier than me" but Hey it doesnt bother me in the least because That Person is not me and their petty comments have no place in my world.

Of course the only person I work with and see all day is my hubby and all he wants is nooners so you know his manners are fine :roflmao:

I think it may have been a back handed compliment. I know some pretty sarcastic people who talk that way, so it wouldn't have offended me at all.

I would have yelled "YES! YES, I AM starving to DEATH!" and then cackled wildly. And maybe ended with a burp.
