15 and stuck

Postby tink » June 16th, 2005, 11:28 am

I am at 15 pounds and stuck it just isn't coming off and I am so irritated. :x I am NOT going to cheat and I can't even fathom not MF'ing but I just want that scale to move soooooooo bad. :brickwall: I can't figure out why though because I always thought most plateaus came later? :help:

Tink-

I hit a plateau around my 3rd or 4th week. Just be patient & it will pass soon. I know it stinks though. :x I have had 2 really slow weeks but I am hoping Sunday will be better for both of us.

Keep Smiling.

tink....how you doing on your water?

If you can find an extra hour during the day, you might try having an extra shake and going for a light walk for an hour or so.

Don't fret too much, if you can help it. It's just a matter of time.

Tink- It'll come off! It has to! Just hang in there!

BTW- I totally think water is EVERYTHING! Start guzzling and see what happens?

I know those plateau's are a pain! :x I had one last time around... keep hoping it'll stay away as long as possible this time!

I am also stuck. I am at a 17 lb loss and 3 lbs away from the 20 lb club and all week the scale hasn't moved. I've been real busy with week with school coming to an end and neice and nephews graduation parties that I haven't been able to get my walks in. I'm hoping after this weekend, I can get back to walking and hopeully this "stuck" will end.

How long have you guys been stuck? And have you checked your measurements? Sometimes you can shrink but the scale stays the same.

Dogma - Unfortunately I didn't measure when I started. I honestly didn't think about it and by the time I found this wonderful place it had been a week or so ... I can definately tell I am losing inches though my clothes are getting baggy! WOOHOO I wish that I knew my beginning measurements I had thought of taking them now to see my upcoming loss.

I am happy to say I was down 1.5 pounds this morning and boy will I ever take that! I will weigh again Monday morning and hope I see some more loss. I am dedication myself to water consumption today ... get ready potty I am gonna be a frequent visitor today! :water:

Yup, water water water! That's the way to go! :water:

Also, we know that stress can make you hold on to weight so try not to get too stressed about it... (easier said than done huh?)

Tink and everyone...take your measurements NOW even if you missed the beginning. We have a fun new forum under Roll Call for MEASUREMENT MONDAY that happens once a month. It is AWESOME to REALLY KNOW about the inches lost!!

You guys, if you wouldn't weigh every day you wouldn't even notice that you are "stuck," or it wouldn't seem so prolonged.

Twice now, in five and a half months, I've had the scale move either just one-half a pound or nothing at my weekly weigh in. Had I gotten on the scale every day, I would have 14 or more moments of angst in seeing "nothing happening," and it would have seemed like it was going on forever. Weighing just once or twice a week means you don't even notice the small stops or fluctuations, and the ones that last a week or two you notice on the scale once or twice instead of a dozen times.

It really is better for your head, IMHO (In My Humble Opinion).

Give it a try!

There's also a free Web site, mybodycomp.com, where you enter your measurements (they tell you where to measure and how), and it gives you your body fat percentage so you can watch that change. It's not entirely accurate, of course, but it's not bad. One warning, though, it's SO depressing when you're first starting out.
