If they did it, they didn't show it. I meant I missed it, as in I was sorry they didn't have it. That's usually my favorite part of the whole season, along with the atrocious group numbers they do later in the season. With the terrible choreography and the bad voices sticking out like sore thumbs.

I think the record thing is kind of a mute point. How many contestants (and winners) have ever been paid for singing? Alot of them I am sure.

If I recall, back-up singers are paid, so that technically makes them professional singers.

Anyhow, I like David Arch too, and Asia (I think that's her name).

Yup, that's what I said, too. Most of 'em have been pros in some way. Heck, David Archuleta won Star Search before.

(Oh, and sorry, but this is kind of a pet peeve. It's a MOOT point.)

Star Search is still on? Lol.. i haven't seen this since I was a kid and Ed McMahon hosted.

Getting paid to sing and actually having a record contract at some point are two different things.

He won in 2004, I believe. Junior Singer category, when he was 12.

As for the recording contracts, the Irish woman had one with a company that went out of business a few months later. So does that count? And what of the people who were backup singers? I don't know if any had recording contracts, but they certainly were professionals.

I watch the show, but I liked Rock Star: INXS partly because of this. They didn't care WHAT experience the people had, and they didn't care how old the people were. I think it increased the caliber of the contestants.

I really like David Cook. He's from MISSOURI!! I thought he did great last week. We'll see about this week. I'm actually watching it right now.

Chickezee (sp?) did awesome tonight.

I like David Cook, Jason Castro and Brooke whatever her last name is. And David Archuleta, although not this week and not quite as much as the others.

Kristy Lee Cook has to go. David Hernandez was bad this week, too, and he does weird things with his mouth when he sings, but I thought she was just awful. (Then again, maybe she'll be more used to the idea by next week. She looked like she was gonna lose it if she got booted last night.)

I agree with Robin. Thank goodness Hernandez is gone. I think Kristy is next.

OMG! David Cook + Billie Jean = I think he just won it, y'all...
That was in-freakin-credible! Doni, your MO boy might take the big prize after all,
but too bad you weren't right about Kristy! I was sad to see Chikezie go - I liked
him better each week. I love David Archuleta, too - he's absolutely adorable! And...
I don't know what it is about that Carly chick, but she bugs the hell outta' me!
Like, severely.

I liked Chikezie.. but eventually he would have gone (just picked the wrong week they did). I agree though, Kristy needs to go.

As for David and David... they are both great. Carly is good (and she knows it), which is one reason I think she shouldn't stay.. but I do think she has skill.

Looking forward to the next few weeks... its getting interesting.

I wanna retract my fondness for Jason Castro, too. He's starting to bug me. I heart David Cook, though. A lot of people don't like him, either because he's too arrogant, which I really haven't seen, or because his Billie Jean was a cover of Chris Cornell's version. But so what if it was? Reminded me of when Marty Casey on INXS did the Live (I think) version of Hit Me Baby One More Time.

Still love Brooke, too, though. I'd love to see them as the final two.

So who's it gonna be now? Down to three.

I don't really like any of them all that much...they are good, but not sure I would buy any of the Cd's except Cooks I might consider.
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

I think that Syesha will be on Broadway but not necessarily mainstream.(3rd place) Archuleta will be like a young Josh Groban (probably 2nd place), and David Cook is an all around guy who rocks well, so he's my choice for 1st.
