Hey queen,

I don't know if I had a chance to welcome you to the forum. I've been quite busy at work (I'm an accountant and it's tax season, argh), so I'm not here as much as usual. I saw that you read some of my journal so I just wanted to reinforce this - Medifast is great and it works if you stick to it. It helped me to lose 146 pounds and it has helped me to maintain that loss for almost 1 1/2 yrs so far.

This is a great place to come for support.

Thanks Rodeo, I figure if I stay upbeat I will feel upbeat. :exercise: The day is ending better than it started, and I havent strayed from plan. I was a lil disapointed when I weighed this morning and it was the same as yesturday but hey better than going up and I know it WILL go down and a pair of pants that were a bit tight before are quite loose so I must have lost it in inches. I dont care if every pound I loose this week is water as long as it squeezes me into smaller pants!

Did you do your measuring? That is very important so when the scale is being stubborn you can still see numbers falling. Clothing is a good indicator too, but it won't show you progress in some places as well as a measuring tape will. Try not to get too hung up on the scale numbers - but if you can weigh in and not get discouraged, than go for it.

Thanks for the advice! I'm a bit frustrated this morning when I weighed the first time it said I gained and then the second time it said I was at exactly same as last 2-3 days :x I have been measuring and not cheating, here is what I have eaten:

8am shake
11am bar
2pm shake
5pm lean and green, chicken breast and green beans
7pm shake or cappuccino
I only have 1 pickle a day if that, and have only used the bouillon once in the last 4 days.
I just dont get it why I dont see lbs change on the scale. The first 2 days It just fell off and now it stopped :felix: . Is it possible that I could be eating too few calories? I chart it on Fitday and my protien is always 50% or more of what I eat each day, but I also have not eaten more than 660 calories a day for the last 4 days. Should I try eating an extra egg pouch or something with high protien to get this moving.
I almost wanted to give up this morning! But I measured my waist and hips, and although I havent been writing it down they did measure smaller so I will not give up just yet. My hubby gave the first encouragement about MF "You havent been on it that long, just wait" that is more encouraging than the "You hardly eat as it is! You look great anyway and your not fat" maybe in his eyes I'm not but in mine I'm HUGE!
Well... to anyone reading this today, I'm still stayin on plan (got nothin else in the house for me to eat anyway :-P ) I just need some help stayin motivated right now, just dont know what I can do different?

Hi, you are making the same mistake that many of us made in our first days (and weeks).

The scale is not going to be your friend every morning and show a loss. It just isn't how our bodies work. If you are following the program then the weight and inches will come off. It needs to be more about the long term than seeing instant gratification on the scale each morning. You *will* have stalls. You may go weeks (yes weeks) of being compliant and not seeing the scale go down (the darn numbers may even go UP). Just stick with the program. Do not allow yourself to second guess, nor get discouraged.

The program works. It sometimes doesn't show results (on the blessed scale!) as often as we believe and want it to........but it does work and you will get to your goal *if* you stick to plan, do NOT eat off program (don't take the road I've taken!!!) and just focus on doing what the MF program guide says to do (food intake, weighing/measuring your L & G, water intake, etc).

Look in the studio and see the pics of those who have been successful. Read the maintainers' journals and look at their pics.....follow their lead and don't give up, don't eat off program (it trips too many people up---some can get right back onto program but others never make it back to being compliant)......

Just my 2cents.......

Hey AQ, looks like you're only having 4 MF meals a day when you should be having 5. It's 5 MF meals plus 1 lean and green. That should get calories up a bit, too. Hope adding the extra meal works.

Queenie nailed it. Gotta get in the nutrition. Less is not better.. ya gotta get in the right nutrition for your body to want to let go of the extra. Looks like you have your last at 7PM... you want to have one about an hour before bed so that you have the nutrition you need for your body to repair itself overnight. I suggest pudding or a hot drink, but to each their own. That should get ya on the losing track.

yup, what they said about missing that other MF supplement...

AND, no, the scale is not always gonna be your friend. I weigh daily, I have simply come to realize that i can go to bed and wake up 1# or more heavier even though i have remained compliant. Our roll call is on Sundays, so i tend to not really believe the scale until then. In short, don't let the scale stress you. It will definitely not always cooperate but it eventually loses the fight. Hang on in there.

Thanks everyone for all the good advice! I went and did some retail therapy and feel a bit better. While I was there I got a new scale, MINE ALL MINE not one I have to share with 4 kids who jump on it and a hubby who thinks car grease on the scale is ok! :whip: This one records my weight to the .2lb and so each time I get on it will show if I lost or gained right on the scale itself, it will be a better one for me I think. I am going to force that last shake or meal into me. I havent been trying to skimp on the calories it just has been happening that way. Thanks again to everyone here helpin me along the way!

Well, Mike and Queenie beat me to the punch, but they are right. When you are on the 5&1 you MUST get in those 5 Medi-Meals. It is so important or your body just won't give up the fat. Some of us like to really enjoy a hot chocolate right before bedtime. It is OK to have a shake or hot drink right before bed (unlike on other "diets") because MF is so easily digested and is so light.

Don't you even think about giving up. You can so do this.

I am here for ya!
