I'm so sorry you're hurting, Alex. I don't know what to say, other than I can relate to what you are feeling. It's awful to feel so out of control, and yes, it is scary. I went to a few counseling sessions last time I started MF and it helped get me going - I'm thinking of doing the same thing again if I can't get myself turned around pretty soon. I don't know if that's your thing or not but it can help. I wish there was more I could say. Try to remember that you are still a good person and you can like yourself whether your eating is under control or not. I know there are plenty of people here who still value you, as well. All this probably seems pretty cliche but sometimes cliches are true, you know?

Much love to you.

Alex, I'm so sorry. You're SUCH a great person - smart, funny, supportive. I hope you can recognize that again and remember that you're NOT your weight. You're someone worth liking (and taking care of) no matter what you weigh.

aight. i've been on plan about 3 weeks, and i've only dropped about 8lbs. i know that 8lbs lost is decent, but the last time i did this plan, it was way easier and a lot faster.

where did everyone go? it's a deserted place now.

i remember how weird it got, and why people stopped coming here for support, but i'd like to know who's out there and what's up with them.

Hi Alex ! It's great to see you :). Yep, 8 lbs is great ! You know, honestly, it got to be a bit much for me here a couple years back, and perhaps I was in a different "space" then, too (well, I certainly WAS), but, I was realizing today that those days are gone. And, there is really just a very few of us who are here anymore, and basically, we can make it what we need.

It would be *great* if you felt you would like to post more regularly :). I've been on program for ... a little over a week again, maybe more like two (?), after a bit of a struggle for a few months. It was really strange trying to get myself back on (again), I would start every single day on, and then go off by the end. I got inspired by people here though, and I started getting a clearer idea of what I want (as well as what I didn't want !), and then I posted here again on a day number one, and with some encouragement, support and inspiration from others, it stuck !

I would like to be here as a support for you if you feel you would like/need that :) ... or anyway, at least as a fellow former-goer and MFer :).

Cheers !

Welcome back, Alex, and 8 pounds is great even if it's not as high as the last time. I do think losing weight gets a bit harder and slower each time you do it (another reason not to gain the weight back).

Thankfully, I think all the craziness left with the posters who left. Things are quieter here, but also much friendlier and less volatile. So far everyone here seems to know how to play well with others. :)

Hi Alpha! I have been on the program for a little over two months and found this site day two into my program. I hope you come back more often and let us know how you are doing!

Hey, pretty lady, welcome back! Sorry you're frustrated with the drop-off speed, I am sure it sucks to feel like you're doing everything "right" and not getting the same results. But any loss is a good loss, and I am quite sure you'll still have coming weeks when the stars align and the pounds float away.

Yeah, it's a much, um, kinder gentler nation here now! A very supportive bunch - still with some fun personalities - but none of the "ugly" that had at one time (and another) been pretty pervasive.

You've poked your head in a couple times this last year, only to disappear again - so I'm calling you OUT (ha, I know, too late) - too stick around this time.

I'm totally here, just don't always post that often, but if you ever want to chat, you can find me in Maintenance, or PM me.

Cheers,

Lauren

I missed all the action on the welcome back wagon - but I am glad to see you back too! I hope you are around a bit more so I can get to know your online personality - and of course we can always use more humor on this journey (such as: ceilings not as easy to clean as you might think...).

Hi,
I loved reading what you wrote! Yay, we get to read it again. Humor and experience make it better. I think it will take some time for your body to rememember the plan like your mind knows it.

By the way, I totally agree about the whole 'posters with an attitude' vibe being gone. I know that was why I stopped coming here, too. I mean, seriously, in the little off topic room someone PM me a nasty 3 paragraph long comment about a trivia game response. Then, a one sentence half-butted apology a day later. I like it now. Good advice and it seems like more people coming back everyday. Great to see you back.
Don't really care as long as everything's better than yesterday was...

The more I read about this nastiness, the happier I am that I was off in pregnancy-land and oblivious to all the goings-on....

Yeah, Nicks, be glad you weren't here. It's a much happier, if quieter, place these days. But Alex was SO much fun to have around, so I'm glad you're back. (But I agree with Lauren, I hope you stick around this time!! I especially missed you during the Ducks' playoff run this year. I was even out in LA/OC in April.)

what?! you were out here? and i have season tickets now!

dude, that was the best things i ever did. i bought the season last year, went to 13-17 games and sold the tix i didn't use, used that money to buy all the playoff games, sold the ones i couldn't go to, and that money covered next year's season tickets. i can't believe i waited so long! i got 2 seasons and an entire playoff stretch-- plus $160 back-- for the price of one season!

robin, if you're in town after the new season starts, i have cheap seats-- but they are my cheap seats. let's go to a game.

i feel like i'm on the s'mores bar diet. that's all i want to eat. it's freaking weird. i don't binge on them... although i would probably stab somebody with a fork if they tried to take one of the little white things away from me.
