I'm afraid of the bars

Postby Lisa145 » August 2nd, 2007, 2:49 pm

I received my package today and am already afraid of the bars. I know myself well, and know I have binged on diet bars in the past and don't want to risk it.

Is it o.k. to do MF without the bars? May sound like a silly question, but I see that they are nearly double the calories and am concerned about my metabolism slowing if I do *not* eat them...meaning getting too few calories in.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!!

Bars aren't required, but they didn't effect me like candy bars. I was able to stick to 1 per day. Maybe you could wait until you have some time under your belt and then give them a try.....I really didn't crave them like other sweets. Don't know why.

Some people avoid them because of binging issues. It just depends on you. They were never a problem for me, but that's mainly because I didn't care for them much.

I really like the oatmeal raisen bars! So, I only keep one box and actually put them in the freezer keeping only one out at a time. That way I force myself to only eat one....if I eat one. If I have my oatmeal bar, then I take another one out of the freezer. Takes a while for it to defrost and the microwave melts it, so if I am tempted to have a second by the time it is defrosted I've talked myself out of it!

I am strictly a "no bar" girl. They gave me crazy cravings especially in the middle of the night. I didint really eat candy bars before MF so don't know why I want bar loca-but I just choose not to make them part of my program.

If you don't want the temptation I would be happy to trade you for something else . I have shakes , soups , puddings and I think some oatmeal. Well just let me know :)
