Today was weigh-in day for the end of my 3rd week. All told, I have lost a total of 15 lbs.! I so appreciate your encouragement to these updates--it means alot!

Even though the scale moved downward again, it wasn't as much as the first 2 weeks and I KNOW that is totally normal and I expected it; it was still just a little tough--makes me realize again how far I have to go; and I felt a little low.

The other thing is...did anyone see Oprah yesterday? It was on nutrition, exercise, (she had Bob Greene on, her trainer--you know that guy!), and some of her favorite snacks, etc. They had some folks who had been doing her "Boot Camp" for 12 weeks and it's always inspiring to see anyone who works at it and loses weight! Bob Greene said something very interesting--he recommends that when you are start to lose weight (eating less and moving more); you should not weigh yourself for 2 months! He said, and it made sense, that the water in your body is readjusting itself; that when you have too much weight and first start losing it, your body has been dehydrated--when you start losing and doing all the right healthy things, your body actually needs and retains more water to function properly. He was just saying that the scale goes up and down alot, so don't weigh for awhile. Oprah said she couldn't wait 2 months! The main thing they were saying was, don't weigh too often.
What do you think? I thought maybe now I'd start weighing every other week, because I can get discouraged and too focused on the numbers.
