3rd week back on the plan...loss of 0

Postby Lissakay » March 14th, 2005, 9:19 am

This is my third week back on the plan. I lost 7 pounds the first week, 0 the 2nd, and 0 the 3rd. My doctor says that my body might just be one that needs to do low fat with fresh fruits, vegetables, and more carbs. I lost much more that this doing low cal, I just couldn't get myself going on it again, and thought I would be more compliant on this plan and I have been! I'm going to go two more weeks to see what the deal is.

When I tried this the first time earlier in the year I lost 10 pounds in 4 weeks. Nothing like the amazing loses others are having. I will be sad to go off since I have met such nice people here on the board. Everyone has been great.

If I have only a minimal loss in the next two weeks maybe someone would want to buy my stock. I have quite a bit.

Congrats to everyone though...keep up the great work.

Hi Lissakay!

I am in the same boat... 6.5lbs the first week, 0 for second, and 0 for third... but I just can't seem to let mf go. I will balloon back up! I'm scared to go off completely. I have finally gotten into the 170's and am looking forward to the 160's, and so on! Good luck and keep us posted!!!!

Hi Girls,
I'm not saying that there can't be exceptions, but it's almost impossible for you not to lose weight on a calorie restricted diet.

I would suggest you talk to your health advisor and tune in to the Nurse's or Dr.'s call and go over your plan with them. Often times we can find things in your schedule that are causing probs.

Also remember, there's other benefits and measuring points other than weight loss.

Hang in there and be true to the plan, and I think you'll be more than happy you did....:)

Ladies, would you mind posting your schedules of what and when you eat and drink over the course of a couple of days? Make sure you list everything, and give accurate timing. Also, if you are exercising at all, tell us what you are doing, how often, and for how long. Sometimes these things make a difference.

In addition to 24K's post, list any Meds you're on and your sleep schedule also....

okay...here goes

Postby Lissakay » March 15th, 2005, 9:19 am

7:00 shake
10:30 shake
1:00 shake
3:00 bar
5:30 shake
8:00 shake

I use those little bottles of water that have 16.9 oz. and try to drink at least three of them.

I go to sleep around 9:30 and get up at 5:00. I work from 7:00 to 4:30 and three days a week also go to school at night from 5:00 to 8:00.

I take a small dose of ritalin for ADD 2 x's a day, but the dr. cleared that as okay.

ummm....I don't know what else to add. Some days, maybe 3 out of 5 I add a lean and green. I usually have 1/2 a very lean pork chop and a cup of romaine with a Tablespoon of low fat ranch.

I also drink crystal light and add davinchi syrup to my shakes....if there is anything else to add just ask.

Maybe years of dieting has screwed up my body. I haven't been kind to it gaining and losing ad nauseum. I'm not exercising right now.

I feel terrible, I look old and tired. I am going on a trip to see old friends overseas in 3 weeks and I don't want to go anymore, because I feel so bad about my appearance. I'm 5'8 1/2 and now weigh 226. I'm 34...this is a lot of info to post... :(

Everyone has been so helpful here especially Nancy. I hate to be a downer but I keep posting because I want so much to find a way to make this work. I also own a lot of products, but that isn't so bad.

Good morning.... I'm still hanging in there....

My usual day starts with waking up at 0330.

0430-0500 SHAKE
0830 SHAKE
1130-1200 BAR OR SOUP OR CHILI
1500 SHAKE
1800 LEAN AND GREEN
2230-2300 SOMETIMES EARLIER I'LL HAVE MY LAST SHAKE

I have been like this for about two months. Insomnia/Stress issues are very high for me.

I must work out atleast three times a week at work (Navy), because I am on the 'fatty' program. When I do work out, it is at 0530. I do cardio and weight train, also abs all three days. Every week I get one whole day of work off. Today is my one day. I woke up at 0700(it's so nice to be able to sleep in  ) so, I had my first shake at 0830. At 1100 I had my second shake. I was really hungry. i have also had one pickle today. I figure I will finish the day with eating my third supplement at 1400, my lean and green at 1730/1800, my fourth supplement at 2100 and my fifth at 2200 or 2300. My day tomorrow starts off at 0330 once again, and there you have it! That's my shedule. Pretty bad, eh? I hate the hours that I am working. I have heard that I will be going back to working Mon thru Friday beginning in April. Oh, how my life would be more organized. If so, I will be working at 0500 to 15, 1600.

Let me know what you can come up with, if anything to help my body get back to normal.... I know my body needs more sleep. I am very tired in the evenings by 1900. But, I have two small children that I must clean, bathe, feed and get nestled in the bed by 2000. By that time, I get on the computer for support  , do some laundry  make my phone calls, pay the bills, etc... When I get into my nice warm bed, I cannot fall asleep without the TV on, so I am always stimulated by what is on the TV... Hence, I finally fall asleep around midnight each night. I have the infamous anxiety disorder, which I have weined (sp) myself off of all the meds now for six months. I will occasionally take a valium if needed. I usually will have my attacks(just minor ones) after I get into bed. So, I am a mess, upon a mess....

I am also a busy body.... I must be doing something at all times.... I love to interior design/decorate... my house looks like MTV"S houses... All contemporaried out... I have atleast 12 different colors on my walls... I love my house... It's so beautiful. I am actually taking a break from painting my bathroom right now... I am waiting for the first coat to dry.. I am painting it silver metallic... So, far it is looking so retro... I love it! Anyways.... I could ramble and ramble.. my three year old is home with my while my 7 year old is off at school. I must pick him up at 1430. When I am off, I have my children at all times. My day care provider works 100 hours/per work for me when I work my long week and 60 hours on my short weeks at work. So, when I am off, I have my children. I am never without them... which is also stressful! Their dad has been in Iraq now for over a year. He will not be back till AUG/SEPT time frame So, busy busy busy...... You would think that I should be so skinny with all of this stuff.

Well, there you have... my life shedule... Sorry for laying everything out on the table today, but it was needed for me to read it! Until the next coat of paint..........Happy losing!

~Tiesha

Lissakay -

The first thing I would say is that you are not drinking enough water. You say you are TRYING to have 3 bottles of the 16.9 oz -- that equates to 50.7 if you get them all in -- not just trying.

You need to have a MINIMUM of 4 of those bottles. You can't just TRY - you HAVE TO. I know the water is hard ... but try it in little spurts. Give yourself incentives -- when I finish my first bottle then I can have a diet coke. I had a tough time with the water as well - but i've gotten myself so used to it that I crave it now!

the next thing I noticed:

ummm....I don't know what else to add. Some days, maybe 3 out of 5 I add a lean and green. I usually have 1/2 a very lean pork chop and a cup of romaine with a Tablespoon of low fat ranch

When you say you "ADD a lean and green 3 x a week -- does this mean you have 6 medimeals AND a lean and green? If so - then you are doing one too many supplements. It should be 5 and 1. Not that you CAN'T have a 6th one - it's acceptable - but I don't think ALL the time. That would probably slow your loss as well. Also - when you do that lean and green - it should be EITHER 2 cups of salad greens OR 1 1/2 cups of cooked vegges. You are shorting yourself a cup of greens.

Don't despair and don't give up. You have to give this a chance ... sometimes our bodies want to rebel against the changes you are making ... but if you stick with it; you will win!! Look back through the forum and see all the threads concerning those who haven't lost as quickly as they would like - or those who hit plateaus ... eventually when they stuck with it, the weight did come off.

We are pulling for you!

Tiesha - Maybe it would help if you tell us what your lean and green is - a couple of examples? Anything that can be too carby (and it all adds up before you know it) can kick you out of ketosis and stall weight loss. Bullion/2 Pickles make me gain weight (all water) for 5 days before I saw a loss!

Also - are you drinking 100 oz. of water a day. You definitely need that on this plan and especially with the working out! Working out will slow weight loss but I do it too and my sizes shrank FAST (6 sizes in 2 months)even though the scale wouldn't budge for a week to a week and a half or so. .. then drop 2-3 lbs in a day.

Hang in there and we can help figure this out!

Lean and green

Postby Lissakay » March 15th, 2005, 2:10 pm

When I add a lean and green I only have 5 shakes.

Thanks for the advice I'll keep trying.

Lissakay,
A couple of reasons for your issues are, as has been pointed out, you must drink a MINIMUM of 64 ounces of water each day. Also if you drink anything with caffiene you will want to increase the water. The other thing is that you say that you get up at 5:00 and have your first meal at 7:00. You MUST have your first meal in within an hour of getting up. When you get up your body is ramping up your metabolism for the day. If you do not provide your body with the nutrients it needs early it will be less willing to let go of the reserves it has stored. Every body is different but if you stick with this program and make minor adjustments I think you will be happy with the results.
