2nd Time - is the charm? HERE I GO - FEET FIRST!!!!

Postby Mara Flores » December 31st, 2007, 10:16 am

Hello Everyone!

I am doing this for the 2nd a FINAL time.

Here's a little about me and I am looking forward to getting to know you!
I am a 38 (glup, my the years move fast) year old Wife and Mother of 2 children ages 14 and 11. I work fulltime as a corporate recruiter and also coach 2 times a week a competitive cheerleading team.

I tried, succeeded then STOPPED (lame) Medifast in 2006 so I know it works and I am going to do it this time - I have to.

I considered, actually have all the approvals to do Lap Band Surgery - BEFORE I do that, I personally decided to give this ONE MORE SHOT and of course I have to live up to MY side of the bargin and that is to stay on plan.

I was never overweight until I had children and I have carried this extra weight now for 14 years - of course it has creeped up over the years and now I am at 260 lbs. I am starting to feel the effects of all this weight, sore joints, feet, etc.... I am actually a pretty ACTIVE person, if you can believe that. I tell people I am the most active fat person you'll meet - hahahah.

So here I go again with MEDIFAST - i know it works, in the 2 months I was on it before I lost over 20lbs. I do hate that first week though and that's the HARDEST part for me right now, but I know I it won't kill me.

THANKS FOR listening...........HAPPY NEW YEAR

....Mara

You sound like you've committed. As long as you are compliant you'll be successful. Just look in the studio at all the pics if you need some motivation!

Best of luck on this journey!

Welcome to the forum and back to the plan! Best of luck to you - - the formula is simple: String together as many on plan days as you can and watch the pounds fall off!

Today is my 89th day on plan and I have 89 compliant days behind me. I have lost more than 40 pounds and 47 inches - - it's so easy and so possible!

Register for the site so you can post in all areas!! I look forward to getting to know you!

Thanks for all the introductions and support!!!! I really need it!

I am 38 1/2 - LOL - who says that at my age - but I say it because I don't want to FEEL as I feel now at 40. So I have 1 year and a 1/2 to get back into shape.

Back into shape - it's been 16 years since I was 'in shape'. Time flies huh?

Looking forward to getting to know you all more.........Mara

Hi Mara,

Your story sounds alot like mine. I too, was thin before my kids were born. I too, stayed in denial for 15 years. I'm here to say you can succeed at this if you stick to it and be patient.

Welcome.

Welcome Back!

I am glad you decided to give MF another try before doing something as serious as lap band.

If you do your part and follow the program your results can be amazing!
Reached Goal Nov 2007 61.5 lbs lost
Gained 11 lbs in Mexico 3/08, decided to lose that along with another 5 lbs!

New Year, New Me

Postby Sharyn Hudson » January 6th, 2008, 9:31 am

When I was reading Mara's story, I felt like it was me. I am trying MF for the 2nd time. I am 255lbs and I did lose 35lbs the first time, but gained back that and then some. I felt great when I was on it. I am 37 and I have a husband and 3 kids (4 including the husband). They were happier when I was on MF, because I was happier.
Someone told me not to start a diet starting the new year, because those who start a resolution are DOOMED to fail. I here to prove her wrong. But, I am not doing it just for that. Its to make me feel better about myself. I want my kids and husband to be proud of me. And I will succeed this time.
I love reading other peoples success on MF. They were where I am.
Best of luck Mara and everyone else. Thanks for the inspiration!
