2nd go around on medifast

Postby fatfree » April 6th, 2006, 3:57 pm

Hi everyone!

Im sure no one remembers me but I did medifast last year for a couple of months and lost 38 pounds and then somehow got off the plan ( to say the least!) and gained it all back! I am feeling terrible and tremendously fat and ashamed of myself! I remembered how great this forum is and have been reading the posts and trying to get in the swing agian. I have decided I will start agian tomorrow! I have to have a hysterectomy at the end of may and I am just going crazy thinking about some one seeing my disgusting stomach and body!!! Plus I am very nervous because they say the risks of surgery are worse if you are obese and that is freaking me out! Sorry to dump all this out on my first post back but I feel really desperate right now and could use some help or something. I am just so tired of feeling and living like this.
I know the medifast program works as long as I do it right, I feel so weak in the weight loss area and am scared I will give up and end up eating myself to death.
I pray to God with your support and my daily prayers to God to succeed at this that I can change my life around. My only child (daughter ) is going to have her first baby in a couple of weeks and more than anything in life I want to be able to have the energy and health to play with him and be a good Grandma to him that he will love and respect. And right now I dont even respect myself so I doubt any one else does either.

Sorry for the pity party, I promise my future posts wont be so depressing!

Thank You for listening to me.
Shelley

Hey there. Dont beat yourself up :hammerhead: . So you made a mistake...we all do. We are only human. But you learned from it, and thats what counts ;) . Youll be feeling better about yourself in no time. Ive been on it for 2 months, and the one advantage you have right now, is that you KNOW it works. I had to be convinced when I started. Yesterday I gave blood, didnt know we arent supposed to on MF, but anyways, I had a juice and some low cal cookies afterward  . Was scared to death it would throw me out of ketosis, but i think Im going to be ok. None of us have all of the answers, sometimes we just have to learn as we go.

fallible human being

Postby susan77 » April 6th, 2006, 5:02 pm

I call myself a fallible human being. I have started not just dieting, but many good things and quit and tried again. No one is perfect. I just started this diet 13 pounds ago. I hope I can keep it up too. susan77

FF, I just started back last week after being gone for over 6 mos. I had lost almost 20 lbs and gained it all back after I stopped eating sensibly. So don't feel bad, there are other "returnees" here. Also, I've only been on the program a week and can already tell a big difference and so will you!

You can do this!!

Welcome Back FF,

I just wanted to address your issue with your Hysto that you have in May, I am 47 years old and had one when I was 25 years old.

Everyone told me all their bad stories, how long it would take me to feel better, how long before I could drive, how long before I could work, etc..

I want you to know that I went into it with a positive mindset that I would be happier and healthier without my diseased female parts, and I did great. Was back to work in less than 10 days and driving, left the hospital two days after surgery, and this was back in the day when they just carved your whole stomach open...

so, keep a positive attitude, don't let it get you down and it will be a breeze, it really is mind over matter....

Good luck and good luck with medifast too, and welcome back...

Tiolazz

Thanks for the good word on the big H!
It has been what I have been wanting to have done since I have been having problems. But the doctor I was going to was NOT on board with that so I decided enough of this BUNK I am switching Doctors!! Anyways my new dr said of course I need to have it done I have a fibroid tumor the size of a grapefruit in there! But now that I can get it done I got scared!!? What if it is excruciatingly painful? What if I die? Yadda Yadda Yadda! As you can see I am a worrier! Anyways I am relieved to hear your good experience with it, I am a pretty strong healthy person and I hope mine will go as good as yours! Im 38 and definately (in my mind)
am tooooo old to have more kids, did you stress about yours at such a young age of 25?
