1st real challenge!

Postby SueInSLO » February 2nd, 2006, 7:30 am

I had my first REAL challenge last night and I'm happy to say I succeeded! I am sooooo happy!!

My very good friend has their family "Pizza" night every Wednesday. Her kids are in college and her parents are nearby and that's why she has this weekly get together! This way they all see family every week!

I try to go monthly because they're like my family, especially since my Mom passed this past October. Anyway...I digress... :) I took my Lean & Green with me (salad with veggies and diced chicken breast) and ate that while they munched on pizza!!!!! I had NO desire for pizza at all and this used to be a favorite food of mine. Donna even wanted my salad because she said it looked so good so I had to share.....LOL
:chef:
I even noticed I enjoyed the conversation more not worrying about what I was eating.

So, this was a big hurdle for me and I made it.....WoooHooo!!!

Just wanted to share! Thanks!

Congradulations victory is won one battle at a time. I too have a hard time at times like that but boy do you feel great when you succeed and stick to plan. It really gives you hope and promise. Great job you will make it. :goodluck:

Sue-

I am so proud of you!! I had a challenge last Saturday myself. My son works as a waiter at On the Border (mexican food) when he is home from college on breaks...well, I had to go there and pick up his paycheck and I had to wait right by the kitchen. There were yummy smells galore and hugh posters of fajitas and queso staring me in the face. I got out of there, but just barely. I think I only drooled out of BOTH sides of my mouth. :)

What a great victory! Isn't this new control that we have over our lives a great thing?! Instead of having pizza happy taste buds for a few minutes, having a victory like this lasts for days and you are losing weight and getting healthy in the meantime!! Way to go!

Sue,

That is an AWESOME victory. Pizza is such a temptation and you resisted and ate heathy instead. You now control the food...the food doesn't control you!!!

YAY! Isn't so nice to be able to go to things like that and not feel the temptation? We've been going to different events, but I stick to MF, and have an enjoyable time. It's such an accomplishment to not stuff our faces, or even take one bite of all the fattening foods... especially the foods that are our biggest weaknesses (Pizza would be one of mine).

Congrats! You're doing awesome!

Sue way to resist!!! I had to go through the pizza temptation last Friday night when my family orderd pizza and the only way that I cheated was to make sure I ordered mushrooms on both pizzas (makes the temptation go away being that I hate mushrooms) :roflmao:

Thank you to all of you!! You are the greatest!
:stroll: :stroll: :stroll:

The support here is one of my reasons for succeeding!

There was no way I could cheat and have to come back here and report it. :3head:

Cindy.....On the Border may have done me in!! We ordered the food for the wedding (Mexican) and I wanted to taste stuff sooooooo bad, but I resisted last week too. OMG, Mexican food is my favorite!!!

Thanks again gang, you're the best and deserve a reward. :trophy:
