15th day

Postby Lil'Bit » November 4th, 2004, 11:36 am

Alright, is it normal not to lose or gain any weight in 4 days? I weighed in for my 2nd week this morning and I am still at only 10lbs. Am I leveling out already or is something gonna happen in another week? I have been doing the same thing everyday without cheating. Yesterday I only drank 7 glasses of water, 8 oz. each. Just needed some reassurance that I am doing everything right and this is normal. I won't stop because I know that I am eating healthier and that is better than what I was doing. Any advice is welcome!!

Lil'Bit,

I went for a stretch of 20 days without any change. That was in my 4th month. The first 3 months I weighed only once a month to keep me off the frustrations of watching the scale. Weighing only once a month made me focus ONLY on my own body and how it was changing - not numbers. For these reasons, I highly recommend staying off the scale except once a month during the first months. During my fourth month, upon advice of many here, I decided to weigh every 3 days to see if I was in a holding plateau, and if so to then quickly adapt my activities and/or number of shakes to spur on the losing.

You're committed so you'll lose!

Lil' Bit,

I know how frustrating it is but everyone loses differently. The one thing you can be sure of is that if you are true to the program the weight WILL come off.

I lost 10 pounds my first 9 days and then I remember things slowing down pretty considerably. Just stick with it and you'll be fine.

Lil'Bit,

One thing to remember is SCHEDULE. It is important to never go more than 3 hours between meals. This is imperative because the brain/body is pretty astute in defining when something is awry. We are not only changing what we consume, but what quantity we consume. If the body thinks it is being “jipped” out of something, (nourishment) then it could very well go into theft mode, meaning your not stealing pounds from it. I don’t know your schedule, but try very hard to get in your shakes on time, with very little lapse.

I see you had 7x8=56oz of water, but I would suggest 70-100 ounces for true flushing reasons. You will get used to the amount of water in a very short time.

Be patient, it will happen.

I agree about the water! I find that on days I had my regular 64 ounces I may tend to stay the same on the scale for the next few days. I usually try to have my 64 (I have a big jug this size in my work fridge) before I leave work, then continue to chug water throughout the evening, so I know I'm always getting around 100 ounces or probably even more. The last 2 days I've forgotten my jug for work, and tried to just fill my cup throughout the day, but I know I haven't had as much as I was doing, and my scales been in a holding pattern. Today I've started with my lots and lots of water again, and am hoping to break that holding pattern by my Monday official "weigh in."

Thanks for the replies

Thanks for the replies. I think I know what it is. I think it is my water intake. From reading about everyone else and holding patterns, I know that is what it is. I have been staying committed to my eating patterns. I haven't gone beyond 3 hours to eat. I can tell you all one thing, I have lost alot of inches. I see the difference in the mirror. So, I will stay off the scales and weigh in once a month and be sure to drink at least 100 oz of water a day. Thanks for the tips. I appreciate it.

Yep, you are doing everything right then. Just slurp more water - it is necessary! After weight loss, too!
