My guess is that everyone that has come on board has committed, but as we all know, sometimes we fall down. I like your idea about the fraction system. I am not trying to lessen the impact that a committment like this can make. It has already made a huge difference for me and I am glad for it.

As I posted in Mickey's journal......I think everyone is accountable to themselves and that asking for perfection is setting some up for failure. Many of us are perfectionists who rarely do anything 'perfectly' so then we come down extremely hard on ourselves--again...when we feel that we've failed.

I do hope the majority of those in the challenge do make it for the 100 days of compliance....but I don't see that it serves a purpose for someone to have to go back to day 1 and start counting again. The challenge was 100 days to Oct. 16th, some started after the first day and some have faltered....My suggestion is just to count everyone on day # (whatever it currently is) whether they started day one or day 5....and the challenge ends for everyone on Oct. 16th, unless they wish to make it longer.

Just my thoughts on this.

40 Days

Postby mytime » July 16th, 2007, 5:18 pm

Well, after struggling on my own and looking back at what made me complaint for 9 straight months I have come to one conclusion. I cannot do MF and be complaint without this site. It has been a very rough last year and I will spare the details in this post but suffice it to say that I quit my job of 9 years without notice and am suing them. Sad. At any rate I tipped the scales ar 197 today which is not acceptable to me. Far too close to 200 and somewhere I promissed myself I would not revisit. Ask me how I went from 151 to 197 and I will tell you I cannot say. Four pounds away from the 100 pound club. Well that is done. We leave for vacation on August 26th. With this said I am pledging the next 40 days to be 100% compliant and will be back to the site to finish the last 60 or so. So far I am complaint for today and this is what I am focusing on. Best of luck to everyone and be prepared for massive posting - it is the only thing that kept me on the straight and narrower in the past. UNCA I guess you better put me back to the 50 lbs club and at some point I will fix the ticker. Mytime

mytime,

Glad you are back. Having others on the same path is remarkable. You sound like you have a plan and you already know what works. I like your plan of splitting your 100 days in to something that works for you.

I can relate to all that was said here about the 100 days issue. So this installment, we'll call it, ends on/around October 16th. I still hope to make it all that time compliant and will do everything I can - but you're right, having to start over at day 89 or something because of a bad day would stink. So we'll go for this 100 days, and then see how far the next 100 days would take us - maybe the next compliance challenge will be to make it through the holidays, a normally rough time for most.

But for now - day 9 over with here, and on we go!

I agree with Tawanda - 100 days compliance - October 16th - challenge over. Compliant being compliant. Just had to throw my two cents in - if it's worth anything...LOL!!

I can't remember what day I am on - but still being compliant.

Starting Day 3

Postby mytime » July 18th, 2007, 6:09 am

Well 2 days down with 100% compliant and heading into #3. It is difficult but the weekends are far worse for me. I wanted to comment on the 100 day challenge from my own experience. The good new about MF is that it works, that is also the bad news. Why? Well when you see that you can lose wt it is very easy to say... I will just go back on plan tomorrow. What I have found with myself is that this turns intro many last suppers and binge eating preparing for not being able to. Does that make sense? Does that sound familiar? What kept me going last time was knowing that one slip ment 3 more days of trying to start - not one - 3 for ketosis etc. Everyone has to work their own program. You have to string together several days, weeks and for many of us months to be able to lose wt - real wt. With any addiction it only becomes doable if you focus on right here and right now. We can all reach 100 days 100% compliant if we just focus on and get through the day at hand. In AA they have you attend 90 meetings in 90 days to cement the program. Perhaps others would find posting everyday helpful. I know it really works for me. I am hungry so I am going to have a pudding. I want to thank everyone for their posts and support and wish you success on being compliant today - whatever day that is for you 1 or 86. Mytime

Hi Mytime

Good to hear it is going well, good for you!

Yep, those 3 days of getting in to ketosis can be a challenge, you're almost there.

Hey, have you considered starting your journal. It is a great way to keep track of your daily patterns and thoughts. I put mine off for way too long, now I love it. Just an idea. :bigidea:

Keep up the good work!

I want to join. I know I am new to this site but I am very serious about this plan. I have been on 100 day challenges before and they were great.

Journal

Postby mytime » July 19th, 2007, 2:34 pm

I want to thank you for the suggestion. It has been a long time since I was on this site and I frankly had not seen them. I am debating and will probably start one, but honestly I feel weird about it. In my mind a journal is private. I want support but it feels kinds of isolative to me. It also seems like people are being less responsive on other parts of the site as a result of the journals. I want to be available to those who were afraid like I was to start. Did something happen ? My thought was that maybe someone not registered posted something hurtful? It just feels like a boundary violation to me in some weird way. But I do need / want to post daily so I guess I will get one fired up. I am 1/2 through day 4 of 100% compliance. I feel myself trying to strategize for tomorrow night. My husband and I have dinner out every Friday as we have a 3 and a 5 year old. But maybe we can walk on the beach instead. Anyway per my own suggestion I am going to take care of today today and worry about tomorrow. Afterall I am the one who started in June and wrote a note asking how people were going to handle Thanksgiving the following November - and I was dead serious. It went fine and tomorrow will too. Hi Mytime,

I know what you mean about the journal. I think that is why I put it off for so long, but now I love it and feel like I am getting to know a lot of other people and they me. It is a great way to get and give support. As far as people not posting in other areas, I guess I had not noticed, but I always try to check in anywhere there are new posts.

I like your idea about a beach walk instead of dinner. That is the kind of creative thinking that will keep you on track. Soon you will feel strong enough to go out to dinner and stay compliant, it may be just too much for you right now.

You are doing great!

Day 9 for me of the challenge. The first three days I lost 4.5 pounds and so far no more weight loss. I am taking it as it goes since multiple people have told me that stalls as you move closer to goal are to be expected and 4.5 pounds last week was nothing to sneeze at.

We'll get you there in these 100 days, Biki - we will!

I have to look at my ticker to know what day I'm on, but I think I've finished 12 days of compliance. The first few days of the week that scale did not like me, but now it's being nice again and I hope it all sticks for roll call on Sunday. We are really working this program, people!

Postby MLA9500 » July 20th, 2007, 8:49 am

Hi Everyone!! I'm in!! I read about the challenge in the come on in forum and thanks to people discussing it, i found it in the weight room :) ... I fell off the wagon, nibbles here and there, so this is WONDERFUL to help get back & stay on track... How exactly do i get the challenge logo?

Thanks for creating this!!! Can't wait to see how we all did by Oct. 16th (then we have to make it through halloween!!! ) ha ha
ooh- i have to figure out how to update my ticker, because my weight loss is 24 lbs now... (but so much more to go.............)
good luck to everyone!
