We headed out today to view the Effigy Mounds, a National Monument highlighting an ancient indian culture. Our personal guide of this area was Adam Nevermann, our Executive Director partner here in Waukon, IA. We learned they buried their warriors and elderly under mounds and then shaped many of these burial grounds into different wildlife figures such as bears and birds.
A very interesting portion of our past history. These Effigy Mounds are built right above the Mississippi River with a beautiful view. We then passed through Lansing, IA, crossed the Black Hawk Bridge, and drove into the little town of Prairie du Chien in Wisconsin. We always enjoy our business trips as we encounter parts of the great US of A that continue to amaze us.
We returned back to our home base in Waukon and then drove to De Soto, WI, about 30 minutes away, to have dinner at the Great River Roadhouse, also on the Mississippi River, with a new friend, Amy. We met her for the first time just two weeks ago at the Take Shape For Life National Convention in Scottsdale, AZ. She’s just about ready to become a new TSFL Health Coach and begin building a life of helping others ‘reclaim’ their health.
